Loktionov was probably the best Kings player out on the PP imo.

Definitely. He has good, deceptive speed, plus great awareness with the puck.

Another thing I noticed is that for once the Kings were the bigger team out there.

Teubert was very sharp I thought. Excellent positioning, and he can manhandle guys. No truly big hits that I saw, but he really can get opponents off stride. I liked seeing him shove Tikhonov, for example, out of the way and knock him into one of the other Coyotes guys.

How did these Doughty, Hickey, and Tuebert do in the Phoenix game today?

I missed the game today, I was at class. Can anyone tell me how the three D men did? How did they look? Did Doughty look like he might be semi-ready for NHL duty this year?

How about Bernier? I saw he had 17 saves, but that isnt the whole story. Were they good shots that he stopped?

Any additional info on the rookies is appreciated, thanks

Me too. Not working, guess it will be uploaded tomorrow morning or something. Sucks I'm by a computer half the day and I have to leave at 5:30 and just got back

First actual game in forever and I miss it. I considered setting up my video camera to record the screen while I was gone but then realized you needed click play... double

Brining it all home, won't be able to see tomorrow's either

Nice reading the continuous flow of updates now. Now I'm even more excited to watch.

For now, did Lewis play today?

Tomorrow then? I know Hickey and Rowat and Drewiske and some others didn't play, but is it a totally different roster tomorrow, or will a few like Doughty play both?

For in game updates tomorrow, check out phoenixcoyotes.com. There will be a period-by-period update along with live boxscore. Sorry, no live feed although you will be able to watch the game tonight soon off of the site. It will be archived.

Doughty: Looked good for the most part. Had several end to end rushes that led to either him drawing a penalty and/or crashing into PHX goalie. Very good skater and hustles back on the play. Pretty much what I expected. Hard to say if he's NHL ready since the game involved prospects, but I wouldn't be suprised to see him in LA.

Teubert: Invisible for the most part. No big hits, but if you just focus on him, he is one nasty SOB in front of the net and in the corners. Pushes, hacks and whacks guys.

Voynov: Very good skater with good speed. Looked a little hesitant at times when deciding whether or not to pass the puck up or rush it, but on the few occasions he did rush it up, I was impressed. Not overly physical, but had a few nice bumps as well.

Bernier: The game looked to easy for him.

Simmonds and Moller had good games as well. Simmonds is what I expected. Crashed the net, drilled a few Yotes and scored a goal. His passing is impressive too. Moller played a similar game, but not as physical. Fearless guy with some great wheels and set of hands.

Richard Clune: Guy came to play. Physical, fights, stood up for teammates. Puck skills need improvement, but the guy plays the game hard and tough. He was a joy to watch today for sure.

No one else really stood out much other than them. King had a nice move where he split the D and drew a penalty. Campbell looked goofy out there. Kidd played a solid game with a few rushes in the first period. Loktionov can dangle the puck and did pretty good on the PP.

LA Kings Review

FYI..I'm a Coyotes fan who was at the game.

Doughty was clearly the best player on the ice. As good as advertised. Speed, solid w the puck, no panic... I was very impressed.

The kings were better physically all game long and won the battles during the first half of the game. Phx played better the second half.

Teubet and Voynov were also very solid D. Besides Wudrick and Simmonds, I didn't notice too many other Kings offensively... Your team has great D. Also - I was focusing on the Coyotes also....But Simmonds was very good, Wudrick and Moller stood out some.

Bernier was good - No surprise there either. And Clune was an agitator. He sucker punched Turris in a big scrap at the end of the game - its too bad the feed on your site and phx site went down. It was a good one. Clune may have to defend himself tomorrow. Clune for his size was an agitator.

In the last seconds - Turris hit the post on the backhand from the faceoff and then missed the bouncing rebound in what woud have been a half empty net.

Your prospects looked very good, not much offensively tho. Future is bright on the back end. Hope this helps out for those who missed it. There is no webcast tomorrow. It's too bad.

Agreed about Bernier. It looked way too easy for him out there.

By the way, is it Voinov or Voynov? I could have sworn i saw the back of his jersey say Voynov.

It was Voynov on the back of his jersey.

Agreed, it was was too easy for Bernier. It would have most likely been a 2-0 game if they didn't pull him out.
