Yankee fans....shut your mouths. No one was complaining in 2000 when your team won 87 games. Give me a break. Such a hardship to have to play the DevilRays, Orioles, and Bluejays the last 10 years...right? Lets not forgot you don't even have a top 4 record in your own league. Seriously, pipe down.

Tonight was amazing. I don't care who played for the Cubs, that kid at first base for them went 5-5 with 2 HRs...thats more production they get out of any of their big hitters. So, it didn't matter they didn't start one of them. If Lee starts, the Mets probably win much more handedly.

Tied going into the last game. Brewers swept Pittsburgh, thanks for nothing Buccos, Mets win a HUGE game after LOSING a HUGE game....its just nuts.

We'll see what happens. I don't expect anything, but I am certinally hoping.

but how about that slide by Church...holy moly...

Sure is going to be interesting. Have my fingers crossed and hoping for the best. At least were playing Florida.

Relax. Nobody needs to "pipe down". The fact is that the Yankees would be in first in two other divisions. It's a fact. That doesn't mean they deserve to make the playoffs. Actually, they don't and a few wins down the stretch doesn't change that. The simple fact is that the Yankees team this year is basically the same as last year's team only that the Rays weren't a factor last season. This year they are and hence, the Yankees go home. Simple as that.

Anyway, this is a Mets thread. Good win tonight, should be a fun weekend if it doesn't rain.

Hey, we're still alive baby!!!!

Maybe NOT being in control of our own destiny is the best thing for us.

After last Sept. nothing more can get me down.

I'm staying positive all the way.

then why are you posting in a thread about baseball? Going into an OT thread about a sport you don't like just to complain about it is moronic. It's like going to a rock concert and then complaining that the music is too loud.

Anyway, Santana's performance today was just unbelievable. Going on three days rest (after an 8 inning, 2 run, 125 pitch win on tuesday), season on the line, and what does the guy do? Complete game, 3 hit shutout.

Chicago is giving you guys some help. 4-3 bottom of 8th. Not over yet though. Bases are loaded for brewers with 1 out.

EDIT: Top 9th, still 4-3.

EDIT2: 6-3 Cubs.

I was there today. Amazing performance. Could be my last time ever at Shea Stadium.....not a bad way to go out huh?

Got pretty scared there in the bottom of the 8th with Milwaukee...but Chicago got out of it and added insurance.

The way it looks right now....its all gonna come down to tomorrow. Same EXACT scenario as last year, this whole last weekend series panning out the same way it did last season. I guess they couldn't have it any other way if they are going to win this thing and get in, to make up for what happened a year a go. Perez scares me, and after last year, I am not too confident. Offense didn't do much today, if anyone but Santana pitches, we are reminiscing on the 2008 season.

Gonna need runs, and hope Ollie steps up like he is known to do in "big games" (although the last month has been full of them and he hasn't come through yet) Maybe the Cubs can pull one more out, beat CC, and we'll end it without having the one game playoff. But...can't guarentee that, because you can't count on a Mets win, or a Brewers loss. At this point, I just have to watch and see. Extra interesting being the last game at Shea and all.

Its been a crazy ride. They make you believe, they kill you, they make you believe, they kill you.

Its officially a tie going into game 162, just like last year. We'll see. And hope.

Ya Gotta Believe.

Johan's performance today looks pretty heroic if the Mets make the playoffs.

well, things look pretty terrible.

I don't know what to say. Yes, we've put ourselves in these situations this yr and last, but the Marlins, the flipplin Marlins knocking us out both times is killing me. THem having just as many WS as us makes it painfully worse.

this response makes very little sense, but I really don't have the energy to get into a pissing match on a day like today, so I'll let it go.
