Mine too. He is our franchise player, we will grow old with him. My generation can call him our Bobby Clarke or Lindros. And I'm proud as hell.

Plus he looks awesome doing his pre game stretches no homo.

I love when he does his bouncy stretch technique. Very effective for me.

I think we should throw away the current deal and re-up for something like 50 years..he can take over for Homer when the time is right.

I remember thinking the same thing about Lindros though.

12 years on a contract isn't enough for you?

He will spend his career in a Flyers uniform.

Among all else he brings, the guy looks like a legitimate Goals Scorer. Those two goals last night (and many others he has potted this year) aren't just some guy scoring goals, they are the goals of a Goal Scorer. Impressive.

Problem is, if Holmer signed Richie for 50 years that proves he's a true genius, and then it would be silly to replace someone with such vision. A true conundrum.

He'd have to give up the captaincy I think. Isn't that why Clarkie went without it for a time?

Correct.

You can be a player-coach, but not player-coach-captain.

a whole lot of love going on for Richie in this thread. for good reason. one hell of a hockey player he is. pens fans are fortunate with some of the high picks we've had, but i will readily admit how fortunate you are for having this guy locked up long term. a great leader too...

He will spend his playing career in a Flyers uniform. When he retires from that, he'll graduate to our front office.

You said it, JXC. It was like the puck had eyes---his awesomeness never ceases to amaze me.

Two seasons ago I said I'd rather have Mike Richards on my team than any other player in the league. He has done nothing to change my opinion.

The most amazing thing too is that EVERYBODY likes Richards. I mean, even Pens, Debs, and NYR fans like him.
