Name what you think the Lines will be.

Hagman-Steen-Kulemin
Antropov-Grabovski-Ponikarovsky
Blake-Stajan-Tlusty
Mayers-Moore-Bell

Kaberle-Kubina
Finger-Van Ryn/Carlo
Stralman-Frogren

I think that alot of people are seeming to forget that the Leafs pretty much got Frogren because of how well Stralman played with him in the World Championship Tournament. These guys should be paired together.

Antro Grabovski Poni (confirmed by Dreger tonight on SC)

Blake Steen Kulemin

Mayers Stajan Hagman

Bell Moore Hollweg

Kubina Kaberle

Finger Frogen

Cola Van Ryn

ex: Stralman

Note: the 7th could very well be an interchangable one throughout the season as Wilson will be harder on the D corp than his forwards as you might very well have to earn a spot on D at every practice.

you left Tlusty out. Poni's useless, he'll be out of there in less than a month.

As our first line??

Huge downgrade in #1 centreman toughness... Grabovski is going to get pushed around like a little girl unless Antro and Poni can help him out. I would rather have Steen with Antro and Poni so that we could still have some sort of Sky Line.

There is no way in hell Grabo is our #1 centre. NONE. WHATSOEVER. That's really pathetic. A played who scored 9 points in 27 career NHL games? Where the hell is Tlusty? He has more goals scored than Grabovski's NHL career point totals.

Wilson said so. Even worse, Poni is up there as well.

Did the original post say Bell on the first line? Hahahaha, good one.

Sadly, Poni is a first line winger...though I can't see Grabo staying there long before Steen takes it from him.

Touche.

I had a feeling I was forgetting someone.

Edit: And yes, Poni should be trade bait as Tlusty definitely should be getting top 6 minutes.

Still can't believe I forgot to put him in the line-up.

With this new info about Grabo on the top line I'd do this. Blake must be gone by the deadline as well as some of Pony, Mayers, Bell, and Hollweg also some of Van Ryn, White, Kubina, and Kaberle.

Ponikarovsky - Grabovski - Antropov
Hagman - Steen - Kulemin
Blake - Stajan - Tlusty
Bell - Moore - Mayers
Hollweg

Kaberle - Kubina
Finger - Stralman
Van Ryn - Coliacovo
Frogren

Toskala
Joseph

EDIT - Switched Tlusty and Hagman after listen to Wilson

Honestly, I could care less what Dreger says, I don't see Poni being in our top 6 come October 9th (I personally think he'll be dealt by then, but I'm just going with the current roster right now)..

Blake - Antropov - Grabovsky
Tlusty - Steen - Kulemin
Hagman - Stajan - Ponikarovsky
Bell - Moore - Mayers
Hollweg

Kaberle - Kubina
Finger - Van Ryn
Frogren - Stralman
Colaiacovo, White

Toskala
CuJo

I don't get why Carlo is so many peoples 7th when he is healthy he should be in the line up so should Van Ryn. One of them will most likely get hurt (hope to god its not Carlo) then Frogren will play. I don't understand why he would be guaranteed a spot if he has never even played in the NHL.

the same reason why Kulemin is guaranteed a spot.

Wilson said he wants a checking line and I think that's why Mayers was brought in. I have a feeling one of the top 9 forwards in your lineup is getting moved.

Then I'll change it when they are moved. Did you notice the fourth line?

And for the record, Poni is not useless. He is a consistent goal scorer. Probably the most consistent one on the team.

I think he had it right...the checking line that Wilson was talking about is most likely a high energy 4th line of which i think Mayers will be a part. Thats not to say that the he wont get a good amount of ice time. I believe that ice time will be much more evenly distributed given the lack of a true number 1 scoring line.

That' sad

I don't care how he pans out

That's simply sad

Antropov,Steen and Stajan should get some looks before him as our 1st centerman

ex: Stralman

Ponikarovsky - Steen - Antropov
Tlusty - Grabovski - Kulemin
Hagman - Stajan - Blake
Bell - Moore - Mayers
Hollweg

Kaberle - Finger
Kubina - Frogren
Stralman - Schenn
Colaiacovo

Toskala
Joseph

Ponikarovsky - Steen - Antropov: This line has a little bit of everything. Main thing is that all three are capable defensively at the very least. Steen still has room to grow, Antropov should have a big offensive season and Ponikarovsky should do well with more ice time even though he's a 2nd line player at best. One concern I have is that Ponikarovsky is not a finisher. If this combination falters I think switching Tlusty with Ponikarovsky may be a good idea. Either him or Hagman, I have no problem with Hagman as the first line left winger.

Variations of 1st line:

Tlusty - Steen - Antropov
or
Hagman - Steen - Antropov

Tlusty - Grabovski - Kulemin: Grabovski has a lot of talent and skill and I think if he gets a lot of minutes to learn from inevitable mistakes he might do well. I'm not sure what Tlusty has done over the summer but I read somewhere that he bulked up. He could really surprise if he's gotten bigger and stronger. Tlusty and Kulemin are the two higher touted players but I think Grabovski could prove to be at a similar level if he pans out. All three have first line upside, none of them are proven even on the second line though.

Variations of 2nd line:

Hagman - Grabovski - Kulemin
or
Ponikarovsky - Grabovski - Kulemin

Hagman - Stajan - Blake: Decent defensive line with some scoring punch. I think Stajan would rack up a few more assists than previous years but would probably be playing more minutes. I think Stajan is a lock and you could replace Niklas Hagman with Ponikarovsky or Tlusty, depends on performance. Blake may very well be on the second line, which means Kulemin would be the likely candidate to fall to the third line on the right side.

Variations of 3rd line:

Hagman - Stajan - Kulemin
or
Ponikarovsky - Stajan - Blake
or
Ponikarovsky - Stajan - Kulemin
or
Tlusty - Stajan - Blake
or
Tlusty - Stajan - Kulemin

Bell - Moore - Mayers: Grit, maybe switch up Mark Bell with Robbie Earl. I really don't want Ryan Hollweg to be playing more than 40-50 games this season. Atleast not if it takes games away from even a guy like Robbie Earl.

Variations of 4th line:

Earl - Moore - Mayers
or
Earl - Bell - Mayers

Depth players/Call ups: There are plenty of 4th line candidates in this organization. Robbie Earl, Mark Bell, Dominic Moore, Jamal Mayers, Kris Newbury, Ryan Hollweg, Jeremy Williams, John Mitchell, Tim Stapleton, etc. This should really be the least interesting story of the Maple Leafs season.

Kaberle - Finger: Not much to say, a gritty and capable partner for Tomas. More size on 2nd pairing.
Kubina - Frogren: Plenty of size and hitting, two nasty players. I like Frogren alongside Stralman though.
Stralman - Schenn: Stralman and Frogren is ideal for me, I think Schenn could play alongside Kubina.
Colaiacovo: I think they rotate Anton and Carlo.
