Jackets vs. their nameless, faceless expansion brethren - Sept. 24, 2008

Never done a GDT thread before so this one's critical. The thread, I mean,. The game? That goes without saying (although I hope it never does).

http://blog.dispatch.com/cbj/2008/09..._jackets.shtml
Here is the Blue Jacketsí roster for tonight in St. Paul, Minn.:

Quote:
F1: Mike York, Jiri Novotny, Jakub Voracek

F2: Craig MacDonald, Steve Kelly, Jared Boll

F3: Andrew Murray, Trevor Frischmon, Maksim Mayorov

F4: Adam Pineault, Blair Yaworski, Derek Dorsett

D1: Jan Hejda, Marc Methot

D2: Richard Matvichuk, Aaron Rome

D3: Grant Clitsome, Jonathan Sigalet

G1: Dan LaCosta

G2: Fredrik Norrena

Notes: This will be a significant test for a young Blue Jackets lineup, as the Wild are dressing a veteran-laden team.

I liked yesterday's one more...

Edit: I did appreciate the title though, very well said.

This will be a tougher game than last night. I predict we lose, but get to see (hear) some new faces get in the mix.

Boll scores.
Picard doesn't score.

My money's on Mayorov notching a goal, maybe an assist added for good measure.

Chances are good that we lose this game, but a lot of the fringe guys are being given a shot tonight. I'm excited to see what Yaworski can bring, he's the only Traverse City invite to get an exhibition game so far.

Is tonight the night that we see Hejda on the PP? I read somewhere that Hitchcock wants to see what Jan looks like out there. It's also put up or shut up time for Marc Methot.

Is it okay that I salivate in a Pavlovian-like reaction whenever gametime comes around?

I sure hope so.

As long as you're not slobbering on me, I have no problem with it.
