Gainey Press Conference far 2 PM today...

It's going around the web,

Apparently the hot rumor is Kilger is gone for Eastwood

But I don't think that's press conference worthy IMO

I don't think they would have a press conference for that, it wouldn't be news worthy.

What ever it is, I'm sure Gainey made the right move

No it just does not sound right... I can't see a press conference for that deal either... And it's badly in Pitt's favour... Eastwood is a 7th pick at best.

Are we to automatically assume that it's a trade? We all know the Montreal media would have unraveled the mystery by now if it were remotely big...

That's the thing. Gainey is very secretive, if there was a move, it would be completely out of the blue.

It's likely just to rip the fans a new @sshole for booing Koivu, just like what happened with Brisebois at the start of the year

BG seems like a guy that likes his privacy to me... I wouldn't be surprised if he's kept the media in the dark all season long.

That said, I'm hoping it's trade. It's getting me all excited...

Considering that Pitt could of picked up Kilger for nothing when we put him on waivers a few weeks ago...exactly how does it badly favour Pitt??????

I find that Team 990 and CKAC are usually closer to the team than RDS or TSN when it comes to breaking news. I agree, though, I'd like to hear it with my own ears before I believe it (why I'm listening to team 990 right now).

Because Kilger has a career to turn around still

Eastwood is IMO not even close to our best interests... He's as some have said, slow, old, and on the verge of endiong his career... I'd prefer to stick with Kilger because at least there is a bit of potential there...

Could be Kilger in a deal even a minor one as they'd have to create roster space. More likely, they will announce me, mcphee as new assistant GM and resident philosopher.

Gainey talks to the media after every 20 game segment. I think this is the 3/4 season evaluation from him, nothing more.
