WEEI is a reliable source. However, Sheppard always reads things wrong. So, I'm torn in believing this or not. But it's hard to get all three of "Gonchar, Jillson and Huml" wrong. Sheppard didn't come up with this: he's not a hockey guy, he must have been given this info by someone else at the station.

Also, when WEEI talks about rumours, they'll say "It's rumoured that the B's are talking to Carolina for Ron Francis". They don't play fast and loose with rumours. They know the difference between talk and things that will go down. They handled the recent A-Rod for Manny saga in a very responsible manner.

But, alas, a few prospectitis-afflicted Leaf fans will celebrate. The Stanley Cup? Who needs that when you've got inexperienced youth!

Mats Sundin, Gary Roberts, Owen Nolan and the rest of the gritty vets on that team seeking the silver surely don't share that sentiment.

With that statement you've proven you know nothing about the Leafs situation so perhabs the best action next time just maybe to keep quiet?

The Leafs are top 4 in the league for offence from defence and have enough puck movers such as Pilar, Kaberle, McCabe and Klee. Of those four I named one of them is good defensively and that's Klee and he's not as great at moving the puck as the other 3 named. McCabe although very physical and intimidating with those flying hip checks has shown over the years that he will make a mental mistakes, Kaberle does not enjoy any aspect of a physical game and disappears in physical games and Pilar can still make those "rookie" mistakes from time to time by holding on to the puck to long.

Gonchar is the last thing the Leafs need. Although he'll certainly improve the team from a offensive stand point he does not address Toronto's major hole in it's game and without the hole filled they won't get a cup Gonchar or no Gonchar.

Two different variations reported on Bruins pre game:

Jillson and Samsonov for Gonchar--doubtful

Jillson, Martin Samuelson and 1st rounder for Gonchar--thats the one I believe

Don't you think "rumor" in the title three times is a bit much?

There's at least 8 teams after this guy. Someone's going to misread the title if its only there once

Until I see it confirmed I don't believe anything.Something in my gut tells me he will end up in either jersey or toronto.I could see Lou shafting mcphee on a deal for gonchar and ferguson paying double what lou would have paid just the way it seems to be now a days.

it's like they are saying GKJ...a radio RUMOR here in Boston...

It's odd....The Bruins have rarely gone for an impact player. And much more rare is WEEI to say much of anything hockey related.

who knows ?

Anyone seriously think the Boston owner would pay Gonchar 6-7 mil in arbitration?

Exactly, the Boston owner couldn't even trade for A-rod.

What I suggest is the 110% crew, CKAC, WEEI, Leafs Lunch, Garrioch, Brooks, and anybody else who wants to join in, get together, have a brain storm, and produce the ALL TIME GREAT TRADE RUMOUR tomorrow.
