i hope he does well because i think he could add a lot to the nhl team...although i dont see his chance coming until either middle of the season as a call-up if he plays well or next season......

He is not doing exceptionally well in camp thus far, however, there are a couple of reasons for this--recovery from a draining virus as well as a broken nose sustained earlier this week. He can still turn things around, however.

Voros is exactly the type of player that Jessiman was supposed to be...now that we have Voros Jessiman will have a harder time making the team.

I still think Jessiman will hit his stride at about 26 years old. We don't need him up with the big club at this point.

I'm pretty sure that's the same thing they had on the TSN website's player pages back when he was drafted

I don't want to rain on this parade...but if Aaron Voros is your answer to "what was hugh jessiman supposed to be"..he should have been drafted in the 8th round..not top 15 of the first round. I like Aaron Voros, but he is not a skilled power forward...he finally cracked the NHL at age 27 and had 14 points..Not exactly first line talent...

Not at all. Jessiman was supposed to be an offensive presence. Not a guy who ha 14 points in his NHL career.

He was suppose to be the "man".

Jessiman not appearing in either of the first two pre-season games can't be a good sign.

more like he got a nasty case of..... being drafted 4 rounds too high, on an all time reach by an organization that fell in love with his size and forgot about his overall lack of talent and questionable hockey iq.
to say huge was a "project" is like calling henrik lundqvist "decent value".
a slight understatement.

I still get queasy every time I hear the name 'Jessiman.' I truly wish I could wipe that 1st round from my memory.

Its a known fact that PFW take time to develop.
Plus he had a pretty bad injury he came back from. Give him time.

This will be his third (?) full year in Hartford. If he doesn't make considerable progress, I think he's done with the NYR org.

At this point i'd be happy with Adam Creighton, for those of you who remember him.
But my gut says he's not gonna even make that, I havent thought about Hugh as a legit prospect in a few years now.

Time is almost up. Jessiman becomes a UFA at the end of the season. We'll see how much interest there is in the only 1st rounder from his draft year not have played in the NHL.
