I have been thinking the same thing. Excellent sense of the game and skills or an 18 year old.

Firsrt 2 goals off of Maple Leaf skates, 3rd goal Stralman blew a tire and it was Malkin and Staal on a 2 on 0. Kaberle made a mistake before Stralman fell.

I really like the way he sees the puck in the defensive zone. He does a great job reading the play and intercepting/deflecting passes. Would love to see him get some powerplay time with Kaberle as well.

Kaberle has been the best defenseman, but that's not saying much. Schenn looks very promising. He's making mistakes that an 18-year-old d-man should make, but not many of them. He's also making a lot of veteran-caliber plays. Simple things. He's not getting caught trying to do too much.

I really like Hagman. He needs to make better decisions, but you can see that his defensive ability is far better than our other forwards, save for Steen, Antro, and Stajan. And he really looks like he's trying hard. I like that.

Kulemin needs PP time. Tim Stapleton sucks. He reminds me of Wellwood, and honestly, on a team like this, that just doesn't fit. Kulemin is much more active in pursuit, but he's not getting the puck from anybody. He's gotta get on the PP.

Blake looks better. Poni needs to smarten up. Antro and Steen will lead us offensively this year. And Pogge looks very solid. Only the 2nd goal was questionable, imo.

Yep, if Kaberle makes a better play in the offensive zone the 3rd. goal never happens.

PP is atrocious so far, no triggerman or smurf with hands ...

The team looks very uncomfortable and nervous. I was concerned about Antropov diseappearing without Mats and that's exactly whats happening tonight. Blake looks good, I feel bad for the D corps because the puck has been in their end all night. I like what I see with Schenn and Pogge, too bad I wont get to see them till next year.

It's pretty disappointing not to even see him on the powerplay. I think they need to move Antropov to center and place Kulemin on his wing, and get rid of Grabovski because he has looked absolutely terrible so far tonight.

It looks like he's trying to do too much by himself. Needs to use his teammates a tad bit better.

I'm obviously not making judgements on Schenn from 1 and a half pre-season games but how can people be saying he has been the best defender?

He has been very sub par in my eyes and clearly not ready yet - the whole team has BOTH nights. Blake has been the best leaf player tonight.

Content with what I've seen so far.

A lot of work still needs to be done but once they buy into the system they should be decent.

Mayers is a faceoff machine!
other than that not much to get excited about, pretty dull game and the Refs are definitely not going to make it easy. (anyone notice Steen getting hooked on the break right after Blake went off? like 4 hooks and no call!)

yeah, lots of work... but I think Wilson is still trying to figure out what he's working with, it'll come, they'll probably all look more comfortable near the end of camp when everyone knows who's staying and who's going.

I think he's making the fewest mistakes of all the defenders.

Not impressed with MVR at all.

Tlusty has improved, it is very noticeable. I think it has more to do with confidence.

No sense making knee-jerk decisions just yet. This is going to be a season full of experiments.
