OT - Yankees do a "center ice salute"

Pretty cool at the end of the game Jeter had a nice speech and the team saluted the fans by taking off their hats at the pitchers mound.

Couldnt help but think of the Rangers center ice-salute. I wonder if they kinda took a page from the Garden...

Anyway, so long Yankee Stadium.

Just a really special night if you are a Yankees fan or even just a baseball fan in general. It was a very classy gesture by a first class organization.

I held out all day but I was wiping away tears on that one after it really was over. I have so many great memories from the Stadium, hopefully the new one will provide quite a few more.

Yeah it was definitely getting dusty here once Mo went out for the 9th one last time.

What a great ceremony. Say what you will about the Yankees, but they do history right and tonight was one for the ages. I'll miss this place but I can't wait until I have my 15-game plan across the street next season.

It was a great gesture by the Yankees. Last nights game felt like a Yankee playoff game to me. Winning this game was probably the most important thing for the Yankees. I'm sorta bummed that the last home run at the place was Molina.

The commercials/ads they had during the game about the stadium were phenomenal. I'm proud to say I attended a game (saturday) during the last series EVER at Yankee Stadium. RIP 1923-2008.

A few more games like tonight and there won't be playoffs at all in New York.

Same here. I was at Wednesday and Thursday's game. Thursday I got to see the last homer by an opponent (Paul Konerko), so that's sort of a trivia question.
