yup, When I stopped playing hockey I got into coaching and it's the same thing.
This summer I was thinking of stoping to coach but then my friends dad called me up and asked me to join his staff. I did and now that it's a month we've been on the ice, I'm happy i decided not to quit.

I would have missed the feeling of being in a team.

Love the little media war here.

Last week, RDS credited a CKAC scoop as "According to the Corus Network..."

This week, it's CKAC crediting the RDS news of Lemieux's attempted comeback as "According to a station owned by Bell Globemedia...."

Little kindergarden level BS.

I saw him on Pro's VS Joe's and he was really looking old and showing his age.

I don't know what's worse. Coming to this thread and expecting to be rick roll'd when clicking on the link, or being disappointed that I wasn't rick roll'd

He's pretty bad if anyone has seen him in the old-timers the last couple of years. He would be the slowest player in the nhl... and yes slower than Mario Lemieux (although mario has his reasons for being slow at times)

The guy scored like 20 points in his last season 5 years ago. I seriously don't think he has any NHL potential at all.

The proper career path for ex hockey players who miss the scene typically involves junior coaching or scouting. Not making a comeback at 43, in a league that isn't quite the one you left.

But then, what do I know. Good luck. But as Bob Gainey, I'll pass.

Do you guys can read? He told this wasn't for money purpose.

He won over 22,000,000$ in his career, between 1995 and 2004 he earned 18,000,000$ I think he has enough money for him and his familly for the rest of their life.

We could bring him in as our official "pest" coach.

I would love to have him. If he's ok with playing a minor role, as a mentor, and for his grit and pest skills...wow.

I was talking about this with a dude from work.

Just imagine...Put him on the Bulldogs, have him kick ass and do a proper comeback into the NHL. Bring him up near the playoffs, for the 100th anniversary...Then in the playoffs he'll score like 20 goals and win the cup. What a story. It's destiny.

Basically says that at 43 and beeing retired for 5 years, he now miss the game and beeing with the boys so he wants to play again. Says hes been training hard for 10 weeks and is willing to start in the AHL to prove he can still contribute to an NHL team.

What do you guys think are the odds of a team picking him up?
haha, he was beyond washed up when he retired. Its time to move on, Claude.

His best bet into the nhl is to try and get on a coaching staff...

He said he's not in for the money, and won't spit on an AHL tryout.

What's not to like? The guy wants it. If half our team wants it half as much as this guy does, we got the cup.
