Before the Bruin fans come in and complain. Carb will win this poll because of all the Hab fans and also because he's just a better coach.

For every Habs' fan here, there is a Habs' hater.

Carbonneau, but as a Devils fan I'm probably even more biased than the other parties.

Julien made really good adjustments lasst year in the playoffs ater going 0-8 in the regular season against montreal... carbo almost didnt get out of that series, and i feel it was his lack of adjustments that made them leave the playoffs in round 2. plain and simple they relied on the PP way to much and when it got shut down it was over.

Well, they're very different coaches, I think. And this could easily turn into a war between B's and Habs fans.

I think Julien is able to establish a very 'safe' team quickly through the use of his defensive schemes, regardless of the talent that is on the roster (when players buy into the system). The B's bought into last season and I think they had moderate success (about 1000 times better than the short Lewis era).

Carbo, I'll admit, I don't know a whole heck of a lot about as a coach - but there is no question that his team has had success after last year.

Either way, I think the rivalry of these two teams will be very strong because of the coaches, players for the next 4 years.

Didn't vote (B's fan)

I think the "Habs fan" is the better coach. I mean, we Habs fans have had both Julien and Carbonneau coaching our team, and in each instance we had a better idea of how our team should play than they did... so...

... or maybe I misunderstood that part of the poll.

I didn't get to vote because of my having a crush on the Habs organization. But if Carbo doesn't win this... something is wrong with... life

Julien, but Carbo is getting better with experience. Julien is probably the better tactician, but I get the feeling players listen to Carbo more and he gets more respect.

After seeing Dave Lewis, I tend to think Claude Julien is the best coach ever.

In all honesty, I don't pay too much attention to the coaches of other teams, but I really like Juliens intensity...That's the kind of coach i'd want coaching me, but it differs from player to player. I think both coaches fit each teams style perfectly.

Julien wasn't Gainey's hire in the first place so I don't think his odds there were very good, they brought in Kovalev who wasn't a fit for Julien's system and they clashed until Julien was gone. I remember at the time he was criticized for benching the great Jose Theodore and playing some scrub named Cristobal Huet.

I'd say Julien is a better fit in Boston with their youth, the type of players they have and what they're trying to do. Carbonneau is better for Montreal because he's Gainey's guy and his system is better suited for their personnel. I don't think either would be successful if they switched places.

Carbonneau might've been outcoached by Julien in the playoffs this year, though.

As a Habs fan who watched that entire series, there's no doubt in my mind that this was the case...
