Dominic Moore. Leafs Best Player?

Man the more I watch the Leafs the more I realize Dominic Moore is our best player. Pretty sad considering for most teams the guy would be a 3rd or 4th line player. But with the other players we have now even last year when we got him he was one of the best Leafs. This is gonna be a long season..............

He's not, and the regular season will show that.

He wasn't even the best player tonight. He scored, big deal. Grabovski scored the other night, and aside from that can anyone name anything from one of his other shifts?

Yea, Dom Moore is definitely better than Tomas Kaberle and Nik Antropov. Come on now, it's only been 3 games of the pre-season.

Dominic Moore is doing what John Pohl did last pre-season, and that is bust his ass off when the rest of the guys are in cruise-control. He'll come back down to Earth when everybody kicks it up a notch.

Moore's alright and he's been around long enough to realize that anything short of working his ass off wont cut it.

I actually thought Grabovsky was very impressive tonight with the puck, he made some nice passes and really utilized his speed. Additionally, he seeoms to be forming some chemistry with Kulemin.

Moore basically stands out almost every time he plays. Is he our best player, of course not. But he just keeps making his case over and over again. He is very intelligent. He think the game at a very high level and has very good speed and hands to go along with that. Right now for me, he is a lock on the 3rd or 4th line.

Definately not the Leafs best player.. but someone who always leads by example and is a prototypical 4th line guy. Someone you can put out there who won't hurt your team. Strong on the faceoffs, very fast, and strong two-way play.

Not a bad player at all.

Easy pal, it's the pre-season. Guys like Moore have to play their best hockey from the beginning of camp to stay in the lineup while others such as Antropov, Blake, Steen, etc use it to get in game shape since they know their spot is secure.

You and the guy that thinks Devereaux is "God" would be great together.

He looks exactly like he did when he was picked up by the GM last season.

I really like the game that Dominic Moore brings. He's not the most talented player, but what we're seeing is what he's brought day in and day out since he arrived on the Leafs. He's been consistently good, consistently hard working, a good penalty killer, fast, and able to put the puck in the net when he gets his opportunities. He's the best 3rd/4th/energy line player I've seen on the Leafs in a while & someone I'd like to see stay a Leaf for a long time. You shouldn't undervalue what guys like Moore & Devereaux bring to a team.

You say that as if anyone on this team has another 'notch' to kick it up to.

Dominic Moore Center
Born Aug 3 1980 -- Thornhill, ONT
Height 6.00 -- Weight 190

Jeff Finger Defense
Born Dec 18 1979 -- Houghton, MI
Height 6.01 -- Weight 205 -- Shoots L

Maybe the Leafs should lock Dom up long term now before he has a Finger breakout season.

Offer him 4 years, 6 million.

You realize Kilger, I believe, was our best scorer last preseason, right? It doesn't mean much. He is pretty good but he's not our best. He's good for penalty killing and stuff like that.

Silly thread premise, but I'm all for a little Moore discussion.

Moore was a wonderful waiver pickup, he's been very solid for us in the role he's asked to provide. Little more offensive than I think we had any right to expect as well, I like his hands. Absolute lock for the fourth line centre, we stick him there and forget about it, don't worry about a thing there.

I was referring more to the other teams, since they're either sending out veteran defencemen who aren't going all-out yet, or AHL/junior defencemen who have trouble stopping NHL forwards and end up making them look better than they really are.

i think he is a great addition for the leafs, might be able to push himself up to 2nd line if he plays the season like he's playing preseason

i hope for the best of him because he is very willing to work hard for the team and shows what a strong player he can be at times
