means that companies (hockey that is) cant survice on their own, they have to merge.
Hockey is in a bad state, and this is proof.

best days of my job life.

or it means smaller companies are doing very well so the big ones want to buy them out. mission's owners should be making a good buck..

some independent banking company bought the bauer side a few months back. Now they bought Mission-Itech. Not Nike.

But yes they stand to make a pretty penny.

The top end guys always get served, while the ones who works there ***** off get the kick out the door.

cest la vie

If true, this really stinks. Mission is one of the few, if not the only hockey skate manufacturer with a dedicated line of girls/womens hockey skates. A couple year back my daughter go to the point the only skate that fit her properly (location of arch etc.) is the Mission women's AG line. All the other manufacturers seem to have gotten out of the female specific gear.

So whos left?

Bauer, Reebok, Easton, Warrior, Sherwood, TPS, Eagle.

All the other major companies seemed to be owned by someone else.

Fair enough... sorry to hear about the job cuts... that sucks.

They aren't keeping the mission plant open at all?? or are the layoffs just a reduction in size??

I've seen this on another forum, it's legit.

BTW for those who don't know. Mission was started by people who left Bauer.

I think it was only a matter of time after Mission had tried to buy Bauer from Nike and didn't have the ability to do that...Sad for those who are going to lose their jobs @ Mission, quite a few good people working there, I know I enjoyed my time there.

Does this mean they're going to discontinue the CCM Vector sticks?

Bummer. I remember being really irritated when they discontinued the CCM Vector V50... that was by far my favourite fibreglass sick. I'm still not sold on the carbon fibre of the higher models, and the V40 just doesn't cut it.

No, just that the guy could get them cheap because he knew someone at Reebok.

Reebok bought CCM about 5 years ago.

The Vector line is still going.

Reebok owns CCM pretty much for operational purposes. While the RBK logo is more visible, CCM factories still exist and are running rather smoothly, just under the name Reebok CCM. As we all know, CCM labels are still on a lot of products and that's not going to change as it stands now. With the label, RBK wants to be the most visible in professional sports, so they're all over the NHL for the most part. When they took over NHL uniforms in 06/07, they had their logo sewn over CCM and KOHO logos on existing stock of the authentic jerseys given to players and left the CCM and KOHO logos on replicas in stores until the Edge program was unveiled for 07/08.

My question with Bauer buying out Mission and Itech, is will they do what Reebok did with CCM and basically operate the company and keep the Mission and Itech labels on certain products, or is it all going to be Bauer now?
