Does it really matter. Two are better suited for backup duty and the other hasn't made the jump to the NHL yet.
Everything you post about the Bruins is just retarded on every level. I've finally had enough and you've made the ignore list. Tim Thomas played in the all star game last year (how many of those do your Habs' goalies have?) yet he's better suited for backup duty.
I voted for Thomas, because he played in the all star game last year and Manny barely played. Manny should probably still play about 40% of the time. Tuukka should stay as the starter in the AHL for another year, he's still only 21.
I'm tempted to say that Manny is the better goalie and should be the starter, but given the situation (full year missed, Tim playing well last season) I'm going with Tim. Both are in a contract year, so some evaluating has to be done. Who do the Bruins go with NEXT year? Even if Manny outplays Tim this year, will it be enough to take the risk of banking on him? And how much longer will he be able to play at the level we're used to seeing?
Conversely, if Tim outplays Manny then it's a no-brainer, being younger (I believe), having fewer question marks injury-wise, and having the momentum going forward. Tim earned it last year, and should be tested this year to see if he is worthy to be the number 1 for a few more years (Rask is knock, knock, knocking...)
Rask. This is HF after all generally prospects always are better than actual NHL. Though really I do think Rask is more tallanted than either of the other two, but I'm not sure he's ready to be a number 1 in the NHL this year. Probably next year though.
Rask needs at least another 50 starts in the AHL, imo.
It'll be Manny or Timmy - and I think whoever plays the best in Camp should get the nod at the beginning of the season - but they should be a good duo.
flannelman brings the common sense. Either MFMF or Thomas, depending on who's playing better when the season starts. Naming either of them the #1 now is senseless, and rushing Rask to the NHL could impede his progress.
Too many Bruins fans want to just give the job to Thomas, and I don't agree with that approach. Whoever is playing best through camp shouldstart the year as the #1, and Julien should play the hot hand throughout the season.
