Question about training camp

Hello fellow habs fan, let me explain my situation. My girlfriend (see my avatar) is a die hard habsfan, maybe more than anybody on this board and when i told her that i remember seeing a poster here that took pictures with almost every players of the habs ( i think it was jaydee), she went crazy and she convinced me to drive from quebec to pierrefond this weekend.

Now the question is, whats the best way to get pictures with players? Cause if we don't she'll probably be very disapointed and I don't want this to happen cause she stayed at home all day long and she bought tickets for 2 games on canadiens.com today and I want to show her recognition.

Thanks in advance and sorry english isn't my first language

I live 2 mins from the Arena, i might go watch on saturday also.

I know they are on the ice at 10 am. However, i have no clue when they will show up at the arena. That would be your best chance. I would guess that they would show up around 8 ish though. You would have to meet them before they get into the arena.

When I went to Verdun last year they took the bus. What I would say is when you see the practice is about to finnish,5-10 minutes before,go outside near the bus and just wait for them to come out.Be fast cause they don't change and go straith in the bus

Get there really early. Like, 7am early. The players were on the ice by 9:30-10 last year so you have to assume they get there at least a couple hours earlier. It's easier to meet them before rather than after because there's less people before and they'll probably make time for you more so than they would afterwards.

But you probably won't get a chance to meet everybody...certain players will hang out, others won't, for whatever reason. I don't remember seeing anyone with pics of them and Kovalev, for example.

Easy there big fella, this is a board full of die hards. You don't want to be getting your girlfriend into a fight she can't win.

Seriously, I seem to recall Jaydee got his photos with players as they were exiting the arena and boarding the team bus. Probably a good spot for photo ops and autograph seekers.

Habs to practice in Pierrefonds this weekend!

http://habsinsideout.com/main/8924

Quote:
After a day of medicals and fitness tests at the Bell Centre on Friday, the Canadiens take their training camp for two days of workouts to the Montreal borough of Pierrefonds, west of the city. There will be practices Saturday beginning at 10 a.m., and practice and intrasquad games Sunday beginning at 11 a.m. Both are open to the public, free of charge, on a first-come, first-seated basis at the Sportplexe 4 Glaces. Click on the facility name for directions to it.

These will be the last public workouts until the club goes north to St. Jovite on Oct. 2-3.

It's going to be packed this year.
Usually the camp is held during the week , but now that it's on the weekend I expect it to be crazy here.

Yup, in the past there were atleast a couple of days in the week leading up to the weekend.

I also hate that it sounds like there won't be a scrimmage on saturday according to Stubbs.

Do we know if there will be a scrimmage on Sunday? I will probably go really early one of the two days, but only if there is a scrimmage!

Yes, only Sunday. Saturday is only practice, Sunday is practice and intra-squad games.

it is going to be insane. Usually it was wednesday to saturday and it was packed during the week, so I can't imagiine what it will be during the week end.

I am not going this year because it will be held on the week end.

Anybody have any idea what's going on with the practice rink in Brossard? Earlier in the year it was reported that camp would take place in the new habs training facility. Even after the construction collapse, they still reported that it would be ready for training camp as planned.

Should be ready sometime in October, probably late in the month. The structure is almost completed from the outside, not sure how advanced on the inside though.

I went to the weekday sessions last year but only saturday on the weekend because after that day I didn't bother going Sunday...it was three rows deep just for standing.

I'll get there at 930 on saturday it should be fine for a front row standing.

Is that little weasel Gary trying to turn the NHL into the NBA again? It's September 18th and the Habs haven't even done physicals yet. Thats just absurd.

as for you, if you show up at 9:30, your better off staying home.
I showed up there half hour before last year on saturday and I wasted my time, I didnt get to see anything.

I didn't go to the camp the last two years and didn't realize they had them over the weekends.
A couple of years ago though (2005) , they definetly had them in the middle of the week, starting Wednesday.

Been there every year and last year, I arrived at 9:00 and was able to sit fairly easily. So come at least 1 hour prior to the start. Thing is, seems that they'll be separated in 3 groups, so either they change groups every 45 minutes or so, either you won't see 2/3 of the team, unless you leave your rink but then won't be able to see much.....

Sunday looks like a much better day since there will be intersquad games. Problem with Sunday is that it starts at 11PM and people might think it starts at 10PM so they'll be there at 9.....So do we really have to be there 2 hours before it starts???

Bring a gooooood book.....

Perhaps last year they had friday,sat,sun....but a couple years ago they had a couple of mid week ones at Pierrefonds.

I'm quite sure showing up at 930 for a front row standing is fine, I agree if you want a seat better off showing up at 9 but I prefer standing along the railing anyways.

Didn't see one yet

From my understanding, today is just off-ice physical testing right?
