Seeing how numerous places are reporting there's a new song... let's just wait til the first home game, and see what happens.

Anyway, this is my remix of the song.

I was at the gamr and believe me, it sounded great. I just listened to it now on youtube and I can't even recognize it. It sounds different on alrge speakers and a roaring crowd.

It's much, much, much better than vertigo. It's not even close. It's not as unique or catchy as the L'Oreille, but it definitly meshes well with the crowd.

Simple Plan is still better than U2 by a large margin.

And we have to remember, as said before, the 20 secs rule that shortened the time after goals greatly.

In this situation, asking a Montreal band a remix of one of their songs to make it more catchy as a goal song is a great idea, although I am not fan of their general stuff, if we survived through Vertigo and Yvon Pedneault, we'll make do with that.

Let the fans be familiar with this new goal song and I guarantee you will hear them screaming "OHH OHH" everytime we score a goal.

I hope they take the 00:16-00:31 part, that would work out okay. Everything else about this song is pretty... ehm... I wouldn't wanna say the g-word, but it describes this pretty well...

Its ok....I see what they were trying to do.

I mean, they were going for l'Oreille sound, but since Simple Plan must of been desperate for work, they probably got this cheaper.

If you actually listen to the song for what it's intended for and not just bash it merely because it's Simple Plan, you will actually find that the song might work really well for a goal song.

Try to have an open mind.... it's much better than Vertigo.

EDIT: For the record, I am NOT a Simple Plan fan.

I was a big fan of the L'Orielle song and was disappointed with the change to Vertigo. But then I realized that Vertigo was the perfect goal song as the L'Orielle was a bit slow and sounded a little less up beat almost like church. Vertigo really got the crowd charged.

Vertigo was great I am shocked you changed it. It's to the point whenever I hear it I think of Habs scoring goals.

At first listen I was unsure of this new song. I am not a fan of the band but it has really grown on me after a few listens. It sounds like a very proud song. The beginning part and the 'ohh ohh' I can picture with the full crowd would be amazing. I like it a lot actually.

Ironically, the rap version of the sampled back beat is IMO a better fit for a goal song. Of course, hardcore rap and explicit lyrics would make the kiddies cry, but it's still much better than the simple plan version.

I actually thought the T.I/Busta/Mega song featuring the original back beat had lyrics that are more in your face and intimidating.

Link to the lyrics: http://www.metrolyrics.com/hurt-lyrics-ti.html EXPLICIT LANGUAGE

Here's a sample of the lyrics that I think would have been nicely adapted for a hometown hockey team:

Ain't a damn thang change
I still keep that thang right up under my shirt
Betta tell 'em I ain't playin'
because it's all fun and games until somebody get hurt
Ain't a damn thang change
I still keep thang right up under my shirt
Run up on him where he hangin', BANG!
cause it's all fun and games until somebody get hurt
Boy you finna get hurt, murked, put him in the dirt
boy you betta catch me first

and of course the video:

As for simple plan, I can definitely live with that song. It was time for a change.

Nah dude.. the song itself is not that bad and is an upgrade on vertigo, regardless of who sings it. Goosebumps here too for what it's worth. Have another sip of coffee

Blah blah blah
l'll shoot you from behind
Because you looked at me ****-eyed
Surely that's reason enough
To take a man's life
Hmm. I must admit, when I watch a hockey game the 1st thing that springs to mind is neanderthals shooting each other with semi-automatics. What's more intimidating than that?

Frankly, I don't really know what do to with that statement. I guess you're a byproduct of a world where the group/artist performing a song is more important than the words being spoken and the energy being transmitted by a song.

Gangsta rap for some... wrist cutting emo whiners for others. It doesnt matter as long as the song is good and gets people into it.

Oh, and I guess it's ok if the neanderthals are shooting pucks rather than AKs right?

You really don't know what you'Re talking about right? I dont like Simple Plan but you could at least respect them for what they are, they just came back from a 2 years tour and the love the habs. Btw, they're probably at lot richer than you, they didn't need that money!

The words are what I'm taking issue with. I thought that was blatantly obvious.

Um...yes.

This is getting off-topic(whining emo song).

ControlFreak beat me to it but T.I.'s song has the same intro and everything.

We should use the T.I. one for when BGL is fighting.

Just pointing out that certain musical styles aren't for everyone. I pointed out the emo thing simply because it is a controversial genre in itself, much like rap is. The same goes for punk, metal and so on. If it's not for you, then it's not for you.

I love it when people start something and back out, cause it's getting "off topic". On topic is "Hey guys, this song we're discussing was also performed that another artist that you might enjoy". Off topic is, "That song is all about shooting people and using bad language... oh and they're neanderthals". Glad that point was important for you to make.
Oh and..
Comparing artists that appeal to a certain ethnic group (me being one of them) to a lower level of human evolution, is to say the least, insulting.

This is actually kind of funny. The Habs score and some folks are obssessing about what song happens to be playing

A lot of these songs if you take away the goal they sound really bad. The first time I ever listened to that L'Oreille tune sans goal I thought what the heck is this crap. I mean would you go out and buy that thing?

To me that L'Oreille thing was just background noise. I never sang Ohhhhh any more than I would sing the Vertigo tune. Who ever said you could play background bass from just about anything is right

How 'bout we all cheer so loud and long you can't hear enough of any song to like or dislike it?
