Ottawa is not giving up enough in either deal, especially the St. Louis trade, and Ott won't take on Tkachuk's contract

I guess his whoever would be Bondra... and this thread is pretty pointless. I suppose enthusiasm counts for something.

Well, you haven't topped sakic20 yet... Since when does Alfredsson play centre?

The Ranger deal makes no sense at all, once Varada comes back they have no need for Simon.
And why would they hurt their PK even more by dealing Schaefer(Bonk is out for a month or so, so is White) and take on Tkachuk's big contract?

It's a shame the Senators don't want Kolzig, because the Caps would be listening.

The Sens defense after Chara and Redden isnt that good.. Rachunek and Phillips have sucked lately, as well as Pothier and leschysen .. Those 4 guys will fold in the playoff pressure IMO ..

Its funny that you would be satisfied with a shoddy defense, but instead go for even more forwards to add when your forwards is your best position . Stupid of you I say ..

You need an upgrade at the goalie position and better defenders in the 4 -6 spots before anything .. At least you wont be givng up so many leads in games with upgrades there ..

I'd appreciate it if the Sens check with me first. I might have plans that night, and I don't think I want a whole bunch of guys holding on to me anyway. No, I'm certain I don't.

A leafs fan saying that another teams defence is "shoddy"

Oh that's priceless...

Wait, it gets better. They're always talking about how bad Lalime is but we've got the 4th lowest goals allowed.

Yeah, guess it's the forwards that are picking up the defensive slack for the defense and Lalime sucking so bad.

The defense will be fine, if and when Volchenkov returns... what a hitting machine

Lalime is bad, while his defense is outstanding. Two perennial Norris candidates in Redden and Chara will do that. Lalime still lets in the odd bad goal at the most inopportune of moments.

How did you come up with "Phillips has sucked lately", and that he'll fold in the playoffs because of the pressure? It's interesting that the person who likes to call others stupid is usually the one making the erroneous statements.

Phillips has played well this year, and the last 2 playoff years he was probably Ottawa's best all around defenceman. He seems to be one of those guys who can step it up come playoff time. In fact, he scored the OT winner in game 6 vs the Devils.

Given that thread was started by a guy with the name Jeff O'Neill, I don't see this as evidence that Ottawa fans are saying the Sens should go out and get more forwards. I'm going to go out on a limb here and guess that you think toronto's defence is pretty solid and underrated?
