Mc(insert wity name here) always played good when there was no pressure. The moment Hiller went down and the team relied on him he took a poop in his diaper underneath his pads.

No surprise that after getting traded to the leafs Gardiner is now in the top 50 prospects list.

Not sure how many of you read Elliotte Friedman's column on CBC.ca (aka, I think you should as it's among the best out there), but this note from a couple weeks ago caught my eye:

Quote:
24. Don't know if the Maple Leafs really would have any interest in Ilya Bryzgalov, but do understand that he and Francois Allaire - now Toronto's goalie coach - did not agree on positional philosophy in Anaheim.
http://www.cbc.ca/sports/blogs/ellio...-thoughts.html

Adds another layer to the decision to offload Bryzgalov and keep Hiller.

I really hoped he worked out here when we got him. I was really excited when I saw we acquired him at that deadline. Oh well, best of luck to him giving himself another shot.

Yeah, but trading McDonald for him was one of the biggest mistakes of this franchise. Also, despite playing for the reigning Stanley Cup Champions and a legit contender back then, he never liked to be in Anaheim. Meh...
Good luck to him though.

Yeah but that D was so ****ing stacked once Scotty came back.

Beachemin-Niedermayer
Pronger-O'donnell
Schnieder-Dipenta

Too bad they bad a nasty ass hangover (They still finished 4th though). i think they would have won against almost any other team besides Dallas in the 1st round. Dallas, like Nashville this year, was probably the worst possible match-up.

I kept kidding myself saying, hey, we added a good veteran center and someone who can help us during the playoff run. I was wrong and I knew it while I was saying it. What horrible trade...

We won the cup and it was like burke's goal was to screw us over. That trade always goes through my mind whenever Burke is mentioned. I don't think I can ever forgive him for it.

I never hated Burke for the trade. More mad at Neidermeyer for flip-flopping on retiring. If he starts the season I'm pretty certain McDonald wouldn't have been traded to free up salary. But it's all in the past. I really miss McDonald though.

If Niedermayer came back in the offseason, we wouldn't of had to sign Schneider, and we could've kept Andymac, plus we would've had Scotty to begin the season....we could've won the damn division!!! We only needed 6 more points....

Most disappointing season ever...

Ilya Bryzgalov has been traded to Philly for a 3rd Rounder + Matt Clackson+ Future considerations.

Thread.

Correction: It's a conditional pick instead of future considerations. The previously mentioned third rounder is not conditional.

Sounds like Philly is now a cup favorite if they can sign him. I don't like the Flyers but I wouldn't mind seeing Bryz on a good team once again.

Looks like his contract demands were too rich for the 'Yotes blood.

If that's the case, I can't see how the Flyers will be able to afford him. If they do re-sign him, though, plan the parade.
