Nah he's not even better than Brookbank. He's physical and stands up for his teammates, but he's lost in the defensive zone and has random moments where he thinks he's Bobby Orr.

I could have sworn Shane and Randy butted heads and that he(Shane) was glad he wasn't on the Ducks anymore.

Congrats Giggy! 1st star in first game of the season.

I'm not a Leafs' fan, but I'm still a big Giguere fan, so was nice to see him get a win in the opener tonight and get 1st star.

I hate the Leafs but want Giguere to do well. Hopefully he can look great and they can continue to suck at the same time.

I saw the first and third periods of tonight's game and he looked very solid.

Pronger sat out tonight's opener with a bad knee after off season surgery.
Missed most of camp but averaged 26 minutes last year in 82 games.
26 minutes, yikes we could use some of that horsepower ...

Get better Chris, the NHL needs you back.

I still don't understand why Murray gave up not only Kunitz but our top forward prospect at the time for Whitney. Tangradi looked good in tonight's game. He played a simple game standing in front of the net.

I thought Tangradi looked awful... he skates like a slower Perry, geez that dude is slow. He skates like I skate, no offense to tangradi, but for goodness sake he cannot keep up whatsoever with that line!

Whew.. Guess who has the league lead on defensemen's scoring? James Wisniewski. 11 points in only seven games, and a seven-game points streak. The good thing is that Lubo is currently at 3rd place with 8 points.

2007 4th round pick Steve Kampfer has 1 goal and 4 assists in 6 games to start the AHL season for Boston's AHL franchise.

He's still been facepalm worthy in his own end, but it's still impressive.

The way I think about it is if we had Wis then Fowler forsure would not be on the team. And I love watching that kid get better.

That's a nice thought, but it's probably more likely we wouldn't have Sutton or Mara. I really don't care, Wiz was beyond terrible last season and I'm glad he's gone. Maybe he's breaking out this year, maybe he'll come back down to earth or maybe the Islander's coach utilizes his strengths better than Carlyle, but he was awful last year.
