God awfully slow. He's touted as a "finisher", but Malkin served him up on a silver platter and he couldn't do anything with it. He isn't good enough to be a top 6 player, but isn't physical enough to be a bottom 6 player. Only reason he has stuck this far is because he is good at both ends...but that's about as much as he has going for him

40 point scorer for peanuts. Why would Tampa waive him and more importantly why do I see people here saying that he's a waste?

Same reason people said Ryder was a waste.

There's no room for him on the top 3 lines. We can also get a little more cap room by getting rid of his contract too

Except Ryder actually had 25, 30, and 30 goal seasons. Ouellet's never even cracked 20.

He seems kind of like a background player who puts up the odd point. I wish I had seen him play more, because he could potentially be a decent guy to pick up. Maybe a 4th liner who would put up some points?

He also never led his brutal team in +/-.

He isn't capable of playing 4th line. He isn't nearly physical enough.

Ahhh yes...+/- defines how good defensively a player is. Thing with Ouelet is that he was a good 2 way player, he was just so slow that he could only get to the neutral zone before the play was coming the other way.

I think the RDS page was too quick. Oullet will be claimed and I believe the Score ticker announced he was put on waivers today at noon.

Right wing Michel Ouellet cleared waivers and is free to be assigned to the minors, though that was not done immediately. Does that mean a trade is working?

Norfolk could potentially have a top line of Bochenski - Konopka - Ouellet. That's frightening for an AHL team.

Yeah and with Ramo in goal and Hutchinson-Smaby as defense! But we will see what happens with Ouellet still..

You could probably also add Jason Ward...
But they would have too many veterans...

he kind of sucks. not talented enough for the top 6 on a good team, and definitely is not a bottom 6 type guy.

Please never show your face in the NHL ever again.
