Agreed. Yet, in the past 5 years the trade board became a place for 14 yo's to be moron's or rack up the post total.

In all honesty, the Prospect board is the only remaining board for good conversation(out of the main ones). For the most part, many of the posters don't actually follow 'Hockey's Future'. They only complain about the present...

The ONLY ASSET for which Staal would be traded is a decently young, upper-tier scoring winger. This is NOT because Pens fans think he is the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ himself. It's because he fills an extremely pressing need right now, and the only incentive to move him would be to upgrade at the position he fills.

Please take this into consideration next time you think about making a proposal for Jordan Staal.

With that being said, I was thinking maybe we could condense all the rediculous Staal proposals into one thread to save space and hopefully help to focus the conversation. I'll start it off I suppose:

To Nash: Jordan Staal

To PIT: Alex Radulov, Dan Hamhuis
(assuming Radulov returns to the NHL AND the Pens get to talk to him before the trade)

P.S.- Sorry if I came off as a jerk or arrogant. I'm just getting tired of some of these unrealistic proposals that start arguments for no reason. Have a great day
Wow you think Staal is worth Radulov AND Hamhuis???

did you even read the 2nd part? Or did you feel the ever pressing need to make this pressing point. I guess you arent sick of the Staal proposals otherwise you would follow your own advice.

There are so many Staal proposals because him and Goligoski are the only guys the Penguins have left that are worth trading for if they want a top 6 winger which is their biggest need right now.

staal can play the wing i'm sure with little problem. If the pens decided to shop staal which i doubt they will, I've always thought vancouver should make a pitch for him. what that would include i dont really know... obviously some form of D-man + . Ohlund would look nice in a pens uniform..

But Staal is going to be a top 6 winger this year...

Yes, a large portion of his goals were scored on breakaways...unassisted.

I think you and others are neglected that his game is VERY far from refined. Though it seems like he has been in the league forever...he's on 19 years old. He still has a good bit of weight to put on, and his skills will become more and more refined once he grows into his body.

And on top of all these facts, how can anyone pass judgement on his offensive performance last year when he was put in a primarily defensive role, and not put in many positions to score goals?

We already have Godard and Bissonnette, McGrattan would be redundant here. Plus, his shoulder problems are a concern.

To Pittsburgh:
Martin Skoula (UFA at the end of the year)
Marian Gaborik (UFA at the end of the year)
Conditional pick (depending on Gaborik's contract status)

To Minnesota:
1st Round Pick
Jordan Staal
Depth Player
Conditional if Skoula/Gaborik re-sign

I would have added Schultz but he has an NTC and Johnsson's contract is too large to move. We just added Zidlicky, so that wouldn't work either.
