Are there any news on Mike York? Did he report to training camp in Novosibirsk?

He isn't there, they just signed Ivan Ciernik who had a brief stint in the NHL.

Martin Grinier has signed with Traktor

I can't remember if Robert Esche ended up in Germany or Russia. I'm pretty sure it was Russia. Is he on a team in the KHL, or something completely different?

Esche played with Ak Bars Kazan in the RSL last season, I don't know if he has a contract for the 2008-09 season.

Have they? According to local newspapers, there are contradicting news about Ciernik's current whereabout. While Russian media reported, that he joined Sibir Novosibirsk's training camp in Finland, other news have him in Slovakia, waiting for contract offers.
If the former is the case, does this mean, that Novosibirsk is willing to pay the 400.000 in transfer-compensation the Cologne Sharks are asking for to leave Ciernik out of his contract?

Apparently Martin Rucinsky's agent offered his client to Spartak Moscow, coached by a prominent Czech specialist Milos Rziga! He also said that had his team more money Gaborik was willing to play in Moscow, take it for whatever it's worth.

As for hype, that's exactly how I presented the news, which were taken out of the interview with Rziga.

Believe me, that's unintentional. Maybe I've somewhat critical views, but I'm not a hater, it's just easy to think like that.

As for KHL, well I don't really like that basement of the league(state money, dependeance of teams from big boss from administration etc) and not the biggest fan of advertisment based on NHL bashing. That's probably all, nothing against teams and their fans.

HC MVD must be renamed though.
