I dunno, but that looked like a good shot by Kalinin.

Korpedo is great at C and they need the freaking 3rd line to score.......with Callahan and Voros I think they can chip in

looks to me that Fritsche has been moved to the 4th line with Betts............

tommorows lineup will be interesting

What really has stood out to me as the difference between this game and the previous games, was not the skill difference, so much as the goaltending difference. FINALLY the Rangers got a good goaltending performance, and finally the other goalie didnt look like Patrick Roy in his prime. Other than that, the Rangers have pretty much dominated all the other teams they have played (except for the Devils for a few periods), and weve basically seen them own the puck and limit chances against big time in all the games so far.

I dont know if the difference in talent made any kind of a difference on the ice. The rangers have been skating other teams out of their boots all over the ice. the difference seems to be that our goalie finally stopped some tough shots, and their goalie let in a few (though im not sure you can really blame him on any of them except for the 1st Dubinsky goal in which he was totally out of position and slow to recover).

So yes, there is a major skill difference between the club, but i think weve basically seen this game already 4 or 5 times this preseason, just with different results.

dubinsky zherdev

i havent posted very many times on this board, and typically when i do i get chastised very quickly. It may be that im not often correct but if you reference my previous post where i proposed dubinsky zherdev, you'll see my reasoning was dead on- after todays game albeit against a weaker swiss team that line looks scary, they combine speed, skill, grit and contrasting but complimentary offensive abilities and hopefully can become our number 1 option, allowing drury and gomez to fill roles of supplementary scorers, rounding out our top 6 WITHOUT any trades.

excited for tomorrow, more so for tampa bay.

That's good to hear. Hopefully with that monkey off his back he can actually start playing well and score some more goals.

Fritsche? A natural center?

Naslund-Gomez-Drury
Korpikoski-Dubinsky-Zherdev
Dawes-Fritsche-Callahan
Rissmiller/Voros-Betts-Orr

Or flip Korpikoski and Dawes. Either way, I feel like we can do without Prucha.

Jumping in way late as I had a trip to make, but I cannot wait for the ****ing day when the NHL goes to international ice. It will solve many of the scoring problems.

Also, I'm putting going to an SC Bern home game on my bucket list.

OK, I forgot about Fritsche. Probably because he hasn't shown me much during the pre-season. I don't have him in my top 12, but that's where my opinion and most everyone else's differ. I'm ok with that. When it comes down to it, I just want the best for the Rangers and I'll cheer for whoever suits up for us.

Why would a post asking where to catch the highlights get deleted? What is wrong with that?

Not everyone can watch games at noon.

Probably because if you bothered to look through the thread you would find that not only has your question been asked, its been answered as well.

Individual skill is what really paved the way to a lop-sided win tonight more then antyhing else. Obviously we were by far the more skilled squad.

We still weren't that great in terms of chemistry, but let me tell you.....I'm starting to consider taking a long, hard look at the Dubinsky-Zherdev duo, Could be a solid 1-2 punch for years to come...both seem to have that good kind of cockiness, and confidence, too.

Unbelievable Performance, they didn't attempt to pressure us and Drury stood in front of the net untouched all game. Valiquette played great. I hope this is a confidence booster for the team. Is Lundqvist playing tomorrow?

I imagine they'll pretty much ice their final roster...last preseason game, might as well consider it the final tuneup for the regular season?

Who's left off might be telling in terms of final cuts

From a point of view i'm happy that SC Bern lost 8-1 againts the Rangers, but not because i'm a HC Lugano fans ( ) but because too often i hear from the media here in Switzerland how much we have a good championship (LNA) and good teams. It's funny, there are people that claim that a travel with a bus for 4 hour around the Switzerland (44'000 Km2) it's more hard than 41 games with air travel in all the NHL cities.

All the Swiss hockey has to grow a lot, like others said our league is really "amateur", we have not a real video review if needed (only a couple of camera and not a goalie cam), our players are not competitive (many place in roster for low quality players, 4 foreign allowed on ice, and they carried the most of the offensive side), we are weak mentally (versus the Rangers it was a great opportunity to show something, they were invisible)...and it's awful that tomorrow we have not a live for the Victoria Cup, our public broadcasting service procude the image, but we cannot see them.

8-1 againts an half team of the NHL, still in preparations for the regular season, with the backup goalie, at home, with wider rink...i cannot think what could have happened if they played in january at the MSG.

I will be in Bern tomorrow for Rangers vs Metallurg...i hope it will be a more competitive game. And let's go Magnitogorsk!

I agree with this wholeheartedly, and I'm actually quite psyched to get a sanity check of sorts. The game that comes to mind the most is the one in Tampa. The Rangers SEVERELY outplayed the Lightning that night and made their full NHL defense look horrid. Mike Smith was amazing, and if he wasn't, that game would have been a very easy Ranger victory. Just further proof, as if any mroe is needed, for why goaltending is hands down the most important position in the game.

8-1 isn't too bad after all

Tampa had to go to a shootout to win their game against those Bratislava people.

That was with their top goalie and vinny and gang playing.

I think the Rangers played well, even though Bern was missing some of their star players and they dressed two 17,18 and 19 year old players. Overall a pretty good performance.

Anyone living in the North Country and watching the game on MSG? Both the game and the repeat are blacked out for me, but just the video; I'm getting audio.
They'd better not pull this for tomorrow's game.
