No one would do that I don't think, it's left as a crowd/ice thing. If Hossa signed here next summer, he'd be welcomed with open arms I'm quite sure.

Who the heck is that Leino guys you guys signed anyways? He looked very impressive, led the Finnish league in scoring? He looked great.

If I had it my way right now i'd rather have Begin and Kosto over Lapierre but as they are both going to be UFA's and Lapierre should only improve (hopefully) so one of Begin or TKO becomes expendable.
No way! Chip has been a captain?! OMG

Seriously it takes more than a guy with intensity to replace Begin. The guy is pretty special. And there's no way Chip or anybody could show they could be of that level of grinding with a few shifts there and there. What i'm saying is that if Chip ever gets there it will be in a few years from now. And the Habs needs to win NOW this year. Next year a bunch of these old guys will leave and there will be several positions to fill.

When you never get high draft picks you have to hire a good scouting staff. Our staff scouts hard.

my take on tonight

Fun game to watch.

Latendresse played very well and he is faster, he needs to keep playing physical and he will be good.

Chipchura played hungry tonight and deserves more of a look.

MaxPac is going to be great, based on just this game he should get a shot now but we all know it probably won't happen till later this season around 2-3 months in. Best player on the Habs tonight , split that with Price.

Kovalev had his moments and if that continues he will match last years' numbers.

Komisarek looked good, he is a beast.

I am not sold on Lang yet, but like they said he needs to skate on this team, good hands though.

I thought we took a couple of lazy penalties but it is pre-season.
Kostitsyn played ok but not great we have seen him play better.

Dandenault actually played well with Chipchura, but he drives me nuts so if he is the odd man out this season it won't bother me.

I would trade Dandenault for Helm and a 1st. Maybe if Detroit wants to add Leino and a 2nd, I would consider adding Lapierre to the trade.

Honestly I thought the first period sucked. Felt like a constant Wings PP.

Plus at some point we had 14 blocked shots against 0 for the wings and they still had the lead in shots. If they had blocked 14 shots at this point in the game we would have had 0 shots. I find that stat worrysome. They basicaly had twice as many shots in direction of the net then we did.

I forgot about Schenn, McGuire is lucky he didn't get charged with pedophelia for his man-love with Schenn when he was still in juniors.

Ya, we took alot of penalties tonight.
i was getting frustrated in the first period, We were in the box for half the period.

At Least our PK is looking good. O.K, its the pre season and teams dont have set PP's out there yet but its encouraging to see.

The only thing that sucks is the overhead showed it was going wide....but I think that Detroit player could have put his stick on the puck.
