Waiver Possibilities

Who are potential players to be put on waivers

The Canucks

Cowan (if the Canucks want to eat his salary) salary .725

Krog (not sure if he has exemption for games played in the AHL) salary .7

remote and unlikely chance of Pettinger (if the Canucks decide to go with some cheaper on 4th line) salary 1.1

Depending on how many kids the Habs carry, guys like Begin, Kostopoulos and Dandenault might be available. Marc Denis will most certainly be available.

Denis has a two-way contract, he doesn't need to clear waivers to be sent down.

The best players for us that might get waived (excluding Bulin) are Aaron Johnson, Matt Walker, and Doug Janik. One of those will probably make the team.

Two way contract ≠ waiver exempt. Denis would have to clear.

Really? I thought it was based on years experience, not contract status.

It's not .725, it's ...... ah, never mind.

Krog is not subject to re-entry waivers. He is on a 1-way contract, though. His salary is not $700,000 though.

That is correct. All a two-way contract means is a player gets paid a reduced salary if they are sent down. Unlike in EHM, 2-way contracts do not protect a player from being exposed to waivers.

wrong, 2-way contract have nothing to do with waiver exemptions, just gets paid less while in the AHL

does it mean he's exempt from re-entry waivers though?

No, the fact that a player is on a 2-way contract does not automatically exempt a player from recall waivers - just as the fact that a player makes more than $100,000 in the AHL does not automatically mean he's subject to recall waivers.

[adds this to the list of misconceptions to dispel]

Flames is a bit of a toss up. Nobody is quite sure how things will go down. Here is a list of possibles.

Prust
Lundmark
Warrener
Eriksson
Primeau
Moss

The last two are unlikely, but you never know.

Oilers:

Marc Pouliot
Jeff Deslauriers
Ryan Potulny
Matthieu Roy

In order of least to most likely.

I guess you could add MacIntyre to that list as well... probably on the very likely side.

I doubt no one pick Erskine if he is put on waiver.
Good 6-7 dmen that can really fight and good team player.
Wish Montreal could pick him up

Already had some with Pock gone to the Isles...........think Parenteau, Jessiman cleared

But Rissmiller could be on waivers soon unless they deal Prucha......Korpikoski has made the team so someone is gone

My guess is Fedorov or Kozlov
Nylander is better suited for the Caps than Fedorov, i think.
Better playmaking and better on-ice vision than Fedorov.
Kozlov is big, strong, can hit and can put 20+.

I just dont know why the caps offer that much money to Sergey

For the Oilers, I think Roloson is a possibility, but only if they have a deal in the works to bring in a high priced player and need to clear his salary.

Otherwise, Deslauries is most likely waived.
