It wasn't whining, it was truth. I'm no Blue Jackets fan, but Zherdev just added hard work and defensive responsibility to his game last season. Prior to that he was one of the laziest players in the entire NHL.

Dubi & Zherdev are a likely match, since Dubi learned last year how to play with a highly skilled, puck controling winger.

Dawes Or Prucha?
Korpikoski
...he's got the speed to keep up, can cover Zherdev's defensive lapses, and provides well rounded offensive abilities.

I love how 1 pre-season makes people change there minds so quickly. First Dawes is a lock for 20-30 goals now he is garbage. It's only pre-season relax.

True, but he scored yesterday so everything is different now.

I really like these two kids together. We might have something special going on here.

This is what I would vote for.

However, I think most games Orr will be playing, so either Frische or Voros will sit.

The top three C-LW combos show good chemistry I think. And there is room for tinkering a bit - perhaps switch Naslund & Dawes, or switch Dawes & Prucha.

I think Fritsche has won a spot.

Fritsche-Korpikoski-Callahan

There's your third line.

honestly, i wouldn't mind seeing this

dawes - gomez - drury
nasland - dubi - Z
prucha - korpedo - cally
frische - blair - orr/voros
extra - sjostrom

prucha is getting chances, just needs to bury a few....and i think he needs to stop leaning back on his shots from the slot, hence they fly over the net so much

I just really, really worry about their ability to score goals, and I think it'll be important that the third line be able to provide some offense this year

I don't want to go down this path again, but who would put there that would ensure more goals? Voros? Prucha?

The line I mentioned is fast, gritty, forechecks hard, and can score those important goals that come from no more than 4 feet out. And they all have the ability to improve offensively.

It was more of a general worry than "oh man that line sucks! get those guys out of there!"

The only other way to get more offense on the third line is to have Dubinsky center it, but then it's the argument over whether that weakens the top two lines too much, etc.

Since Drury's move to wing and Dubinsky playing with Zherdev seems to be working out in the short term, I'll be content with it for the time being.

And yeah, it really is a pretty decent third line in terms of speed, forechecking ability, etc. And yeah, they do have the ability to score some goals...I just hope it's not a goal every 7 games or something

I almost like these lines, I would like to see naslund back on the top line, Dawes traded, Prucha or Frische on the second line/third line rotating as needed. This would allow Voros to play left with Orr on the right and haveing Sjo or Rismiller as the extra.

Nice experience for Niko the new Ranger to win in Bern. Must feel nice coming from Columbus.

I would rather keep Drury, Gomez and Naslund together. Put Prucha on the 2nd line with Dubinsky and Z

Are you both just looking to start something?

He didnt just say "Dawes is a lock to score blah blah"

he was saying that the whole forum has been on the Dawes bandwagon saying he'll do this and that, and now a few games later everyones hating.

He didnt just go out and make a claim, he was pointing out how everyone here is flip-flopping, dont take it out on him, hes not saying what you think he is.

Just keep it out of the locker room. We don't need a Mama Cass situation.

I haven't been waffling, I Don't like Dawes...and prucha is the closest we have to a top 6 winger.
