No longer an issue. If we don't make the playoffs this year he can be traded anywhere without his consent. It would probably be smart for him to choose where he wants to go.

I don't think the Leafs would do Savard for Kaberle straight up. Toronto would probably want Kessel also and obviously have to up their side of the deal too.

Toronto needs a first line centre since they are pretty hard to come by. Don Cherry would love it too lol

Aucoin and Lombardi for the best playmaker in the league?

That's borderline offensive.

Why would Boston trade Savard? Their offense sucks as it is. And their defense is quite stable already.

Well put. Though offense should be better this season.

Shot at the Cup? Well, I suppose every team that makes the playoffs has a shot at the Cup - but aren't you being a bit too optimistic (if you mean realistic shot at the Cup)? Bruins scored fewer goals than the Canucks last season. Canucks tanking the season on purpose? Please explain.

Yes, I'm sure the name Rozsival is often associated with "Blockbuster".

How about Van Ryn + Bell for Kessel + a salary dump.
I could see Bell's style of play working well in Boston, with a guy like Lucic. Van Ryn is also a decent puck-mover/powerplay defenseman who's defensibly reliable.

EDIT: actually, how about Toronto throws in a conditional pick, in case Van Ryn only plays a certain mumber of games

Jay Bo + Chara would be a hell of a blueline, but Savard has basically become Boston's "franchise forward", I don't see him being moved. Kessel or others ... yeah I could see that.

Didn't you hear? Unless your offense is scoring 3 goals a game, it doesn't matter that you have a top-5 defense and top-2 goalie in the league.
