Atlanta-vancouver

To Vancouver:
Ilya Kovalchuk

To Atlanta:
Alexander Edler
Mason Raymond
Patrick White
Matt Pettinger

You gotta give up a lot to get a lot and for Kovalchuk I honestly wouldnt mind giving up Edler as well you gett 1 heck of a player and Raymond has to be in there for Atlanta as they would want an offensive prospect back. Patrick White could be a wild card but fairly solid prospect and well Pettinger sucks so I mean he is just a body that Atlanta has to take

As far as Atlanta goes, Enstrom and Edller would be a sick top 2 for eyars to come and again Raymond brings a lot of speed and potential for offense and could fit in with Bryan Little easily. You also get Patrick White who has potential to be a top 2 center and a couple years downt he road could play behind Little.

Atlanta doesn't do it.

Vancouver maybe does it. White and Pettinger are horrible.

WHAT!?

Edler # 5-6 dmen
Raymond 3rd or 4th line player
White...
Pettinger, they are a bunch of them in the AHL

Kovalchuk 50 goals-100 points

Hossa last year
Kovalchuk for this...

If Vancouver wants Kovalchuk its going to cost, Bieksa,Schneider, Kesler and 1st round draft pick

Glad i am not a trashers fan

Pat whites value is pretty low right now...Same with Pettinger. Raymond looks like he'll be a pretty good winger, and Edler is a very good D-man...But not worth Kovalchuck.

Start with the Sedins and work from there.
Pettinger is table scraps? How quickly a player can fall after being a 20 goal scorer two seasons ago

I've really got to learn to stop reading your posts. I can feel my brain cells dying in droves.

Back on topic, Atlanta doesn't do this. You've got to give up more than that to get a player of his pedigree.

Maybe? Maybe?!?!

Vancouver would take this and run for the hills before Waddell knew what hit him.

Out of curiosity...What would happen if just one of the Sedins were traded? Or do they both have NTCs?

It's more like Enstrom, Little, Armstrong, and Leveille.

Neither has a NTC. Vancouver can trade only one of them if they wanted to.

Haven't they said numerous times that they only want to play together?

True - they have zero interest in playing apart. If one was traded and the other wasn't I'd be sure that they would sign together in the offseason, and make NMCs mandatory so it doesn't happen again...

As mentioned neither has a NTC, but I doubt any team would be interested in just one of them. They're much better when playing together and not nearly as effective apart, although Henrik has shown he is still a great playmaker without Daniel.

How original... I suppose you were amongst the enlightened who felt that the Canucks should've traded the 'sisters' for Wade Belak five years ago...

Pettinger is considered table scraps despite his 20 goal season because:

-he was receiving oodles of ice time on a terrible, talent bereft Caps club
-that was two years ago... hate to say it but the NHL is a "what have you done for me lately?" business... and besides, Pettinger only did it once
-when he is the most NHL-ready forward being swapped for a superstar with multiple 40 goal seasons, he appears distinctly *table scrappish*

Fair enough about Pettinger, but he's hardly more NHL-ready than Raymond.. Anyone watching him knows he can fly and he's had some great chemistry with Pyatt/Demitra. He's the fastest skater on the 'Nucks and I wouldn't hesitate to put him in the top 25 in the league.

I'm not sure Atlanta will get more than this package should Kovalchuk be made available. Superstars just never seem to get the same return we think they should, and Edler, a 1st round pick, a roster player, and a very promising young winger isn't THAT bad a package, is it?

Compared to the other recent superstar trades (Boyle/Thornton/Luongo come to mind, any others?) that's actually pretty hefty.
