As for JBo....JM is a defensive mind which means
JBo=

We aren't trading him in a trade where we lose unless its the only thing on the table, and come the trading deadline, trust me this won't be the only offer

In no way am I saying JBo is going to fetch us the franchise player and 3 draft picks more Fla kids keep dreaming of....but you have to realize that come Feb, if we can't sign this kid a bidding war is going to ensue for Jay....meaning someone is going to eventually overpay in order to set their offer apart from the rest

Florida in particular tends to get reamed in trades.
Luongo and Olli trades were 2. They were also part of one of Florida's steals. Skrastins and a 3rd for Salei. McCabe and a 5th for Ryno. Bertuzzi (who was injured and had only played 7 games) for 2 picks and Matthias. Vokoun for 3 picks. Belak for a 5th. Where'd they get reamed in those trades?

Even the Luongo deal wasn't that terrible, it was compounded due to Bert only playing 7 games. Bert was turned into Vokoun and Matthias. The other big deal supposedly out there was Havlat, Phillips, and Emery. Havlat's always injured and Emery's no longer in the League (though, I think that'll change.)

So far as Olli, Gillis' comments were very telling. I mean, Luongo was there and Gillis was looking to improve the team, Louie apparently didn't put that much of a word in. Nor did Keenan as Sutter's comments reflected Gillis' to a point.

JBo will sign wherever he wants to and Florida has no say in that. I don't see how they can ask for more/accept less depending on something they have no power over.
One of the picks from the Bert trade were contigent in both how far Detroit went in the playoffs and whether or not he re-signed with them. It happens.

Correct, but one can still hope. On top of that, there could be a bit of a bidding war for Bouw. We've thought that before, I guess, but you never know until it happens.

no, but he did trade Luongo. See the comments above on the Olli trade.

Proposal #1 could make sense cause Bouwmeester will leave Florida anyways.

Proposal #2 is just silly.
He will? What're the numbers for Saturday's lottery? I mean, since you apparently have a crystal ball...

I guess you've missed the quotes from him. While I'm not going to be shocked if he moves on/is moved, he's still here and so far likes the changes that have been made and likes Deboer.

O`Byrne will be a good #5-6 in Florida
Conditional draft pick can be anywhere between 2nd and 4th round

Bouwmeester is the top 4 Montreal need to make a big push in the playoffs
Bouwmeester wont resign in Florida nest year, why not trade now for a proven 25+ goals scorer.Florida`s defense stil pretty good without Bouwmeester

Higgins
O`Byrne

Brent Burns
2nd or 3rd round draft pick

Gaborik wont probably resign in Minnesota, Higgins is no Gaborik but a good two way forward like the wild like. Higgins 25+ goals.
O`Byrne could be paired with a dmen like Bergeron on the 3rd pairing

Brent Burns is what Montreal needs for their top 4 dmen.
Young, mobile, little offense, little physical, good defensively.
Draft pick for O`byrne
Will you ever learn
You overated Higgins again
