Great moments on opening night

With the NHL's season almost here,

I was wondering what some of the great moments you can recall on opening night of a season were.

For me personally, my favorite opening night of all time was Messier's return to MSG in 2000.

Others, as a ranger fan, that stick with me are:
-Opening night in 1995 when the banner went up
-Opening night in 1996-97 when Gretzky was introduced
-Opening night in 01-02, after september 11.

The Anaheim Duck roasting himself while jumping through a flaming hoop back in the mid-90's.

Post-osteotomy Steve Yzerman beating LA with 1.7 seconds left a few years ago was nice, although it was due in part to Mr. Cechmanek's sievetasticness.

How about the first game in Tampa Bay's history. Chris Kontos scores 4 goals in a big win over the Blackhawks.

NJ-Det

Troy Crowder vs Bob Probert opening night....that was a great way to start the season and the anticipation of the rematch was great

I was thinking that as my Penguins are notoriously slow starters. That could be filed under surprising moments on opening night.
