Exactly. That's why he was a perfect fit with Frolov. Frolov has the ability to hold the puck and distribute. I think Frolov was the Kings' player who's game was most effected by the organization moving Cammalleri...

Been watching the guy for years through college Minors and NHL. I will agree to disagree. Perhaps your definition of fast and mine is different. I don't know. There is only one player I know that is as small as Camms that actually is slow and that is Wellwood. However, his puckhandling is beyond exceptional, which is why he can afford to be slow and get away with it....

Watch the video and notice how many of those goals are because he positions himself in the right spot, not because of his skating. He makes up for his lack of skating speed by thinking the game extremely well and knowing where to be so he can receive the puck in a prime scoring position.

I will agree with you that he is shifty, but he does not have straightaway speed. For example, Martin St. Louis is small and is fast. Cammalleri isn't even close to being in the same league when it comes to straightaway speed when compared to St. Louis.

Anyone know where I can listen to the Monarchs' game? The link on their website doesn't work, so I was wondering if there was a different site that webcasts it...

...or the plug-in I need for it to work?

Monarchs are leading 3-1 late over the Pirates. Lewis has two goals, and Quick has stopped 37 of 38 shots so far.

Quick stops 41 of 42. Not too bad.

I think it goes without saying that having Quick fight Bernier tooth and nail for the starting job in Manch-Vegas is just about the best thing for the Kings. Depth at the goaltender position is the single most valuable commodity in the NHL.

Another player who seems to be really coming into his own this year is Trevor Lewis. He seems more confident with the puck and more confident in himself, and in turn that is translating to offensive points and quality ice time.

Nice article on the win tonight with some absolute gems for game notes:

http://www.unionleader.com/article.a...sixth+straight

NOTES: Holloway's goal was his second in as many games and the first game-winner of his career.

Monarchs are 6-0-0-3 when they score first
.

With the win, the Monarchs evened their home record (3-3-0-3) for the first time this season.

It was Lewis' first two-goal game of the season.

The Monarchs moved into a tie with Springfield for third-place in the Atlantic Division. Two weeks ago, the Monarchs were last among the seven teams.

Arriving shortly before game time from Cincinnati (ECHL) to play for Portland was W Kyle Rank, a past St. Lawrence teammate of Monarchs D Drew Bagnall.

Past Hartford Whaler forward (and Boston Bruins irritant) Pat Verbeek in the house scouting for Detroit.

Also in the house was L.A. Kings braintrust Dave Taylor (now a scout for Dallas) and Bill O'Flaherty (scouting for Florida).

I can see Holloway ending the season with 20+ goals.

Also, when is Jon Quick going to start getting some love here on HF? He's currently the 3rd rated goalie in the Kings system and Jeff Zatkoff is still projected to have a greater probability of reaching his potential. Quick gets no respect, I tell ya!

A) I never said he was my buddy.....I was actually more critical of Lauri than most people on these boards last season. I just think he was given up on too early.

B) How is Clune doing again?

Actually I have never said that I thought that Lewis would be a bust in terms of never playing in the NHL......but I did (and still do) believe he will never be more than an average 3rd line player.......which is not the type of player I would try to draft with a 1st round pick. And just to let you know the vast majority of my "feelings" are correct.

Trevor Lewis reminds me of Eric Belanger so I don't entirely disagree with you but you were very critical of his age and his development as recently as this summer. He's come into his 2nd year as a pro and he's improved his game leaps and bounds. Where's all the concern you had about his age now? Are you still claiming Bobby Sanguinetti would have been the better pick? For the record, Sanguinetti has put up 2g 8a -7 after 19 games. Not exactly setting the world on fire.

Hey KB... how are the Monarchs drawing at home given the crappy economy, etc... are they still drawing decent crowds for games?

Pretty easy claim to make. Where's the evidence?

I guess the feeling about Sanguinetti would be one of his feelings that were in the minority. Not every 1st round pick is going to hit it big. Fact is if you have one that does every few years you are doing well. The Kings are doing very well in that department lately.

If Trevor Lewis can come in and be a productive third line player with the Kings it would be added gravy from the Demitra trade.
