Doesn't seem like there's a lot of Heward love in Tampa right now. The coaching staff played him 20 minutes, though.

I thought Redden played well in his own zone today.

Well they can have a follow on commerical that says "you better, only 7 games remaining"!

Good point though

Big fan of that guy. I think he's going to have a real resurgence in NY.

They appear to very much stink.
He got 8 min of ice time in game 1 there...you can't opine on him being NHL ready yet.

I can take the lack of ice time as a sure sign that the coach doesn't think he is ready.

You think this could possibly brew into a coach v. owners battle? We all know how much Koules wanted Stamkos on the team.

after two games they have benched and then traded a returning defenseman. they have been outshot by a hideous margin. their coach has called out their star players in a scene that must have had John Tortarella saying, "Hey, that's my line!!"

is it just me or does this make you ask if this is a spin off show from the Islanders?

Ok...is anyone watching the opening of the NHL season on VS right now?

Their opening band to kick off the new season is....wait for it.. Def Leppard.

Im sorry maybe in 1980, but couldn't have they come up with a bit more coin to score a better band. I mean seriously its really sad.

The Director of Marketing for the NHL should be fired.

The best part was the lead saying after the song ended..."We'll See You After the Game!"

Two thoughts crossed my mind...

1. There's More?

2. I Don't Think So You Might Drop Dead By Then.

Just got back from a friend's house. He's a displaced Torontonian. The mood in the house was...festive.

I'm thinking Colorado might be in the market for a goalie.

Looks like Colorado has $5.23M in cap space at the moment. Khabibulin makes $6.75M. Workable, if they become interested... the problem is that there aren't any bad contracts, per se, on the Colorado roster. Not clear who would go back, unless, of course Chicago gave up and ended up letting him be claimed on re-entry waivers. ($3.375M paid against both teams' salary caps).

Arnason would make sense positionally, although I don't know that Chicago would want him back or deem him a superior option than keeping Sharp at center.

That would free up a spot at center for the Avs to bring Hensick up. I really like the Colorado lineup outside of the goaltender situation.

GameCenter Live is really nice. I had the Avs game to my left on the tv and the 2 late games splitscreen and I didnt miss a goal yet.

For those that are looking for a guy in fantasy, DO take Setoguchi or Bernier, I'd pass on Burrows though.

Is it me, or are the video highlights on NHL.com now ridiculously small?

Ed - Ah, if you launch the separate player they are bigger.
