lol, watch it again. Osgood's stick stopped it from goin in. if Poni got it up, it would've gone over Ozzy's stiick and in.

But Hagman and Grabovski and Schenn continue to impress as new guys.

Hagman looks like an excellent signing and is far more skilled then he is given credit for .. Those 27 goals last year might not have been fluke but hard work and creativity..

Grabovski's willingness to get involved deep in his own zone is going to earn him points with RW.

Luke made many solid defensive plays tonight again despite it not being the strongest Wings roster.
Your right "our stacked Leafs", missing 3 of our top 4 on Defense and our #1 goalie, definitely makes us a "stacked team". They may be missing better players then we are... but we were missing quality players as well (something you fail to note). Secondly... with a little better effort in the Second, and better goaltending... we likely would have beaten their "AHL Team".

Hmm I only watched it once, so then I'll admit if im wrong. Didn't Poni fan on the first attempt though... and then someone else on the line.. swiped it at Osgood?

The game could be summarized by a picture of CUJO with a beach ball in the net behind him.

Schenn got caught on the last goal looking at the puck, he seemed a bit tired tonight.

Tlusty definitely has improved on his upper body in the offseason. He looks like he added alot of upper body strength, and no longer looks like a little boy... his English is really impressive as well, he seems like he has a great work ethic. Once this kid gains some confidence, look out.

I think your trying to say, that I'm relying on alot of ifs?

ITS PRESEASON, Joseph is our back-up and he has let in some bad goals. Its not really praying for a miracle expecting to have a better performance from our #1 Toskala.

Didn't Toskala give up 4 goals and the 5th went in the the empty net against the Wings yesterday?.

So both Cujo and Toskala gave up 4 goals in back to back nights.

From the sounds of things, Pogge may be the only goaltender to have earned a spot on the team ... but as we all know, an open try-out is lip service to encourage competition.

Desjardins estimates that about 40% of the game is captured by Corsi analysis.

THIS IS ALL PRESEASON... EXHIBITION THEY DON'T MATTER. Toskala knows he has his job. If this was the season, I'd be concerned. Toskala started slow last season as well.

He's not ready.
He routinely lets in a bad goal a game.He needs to raise that level to 3 or 4, then he has a shot.

Well then it is a good thing that Cliffy brought in Joseph to mentor Pogge, he'll be letting as many bad goals as his mentor in no time.

Only got to watch the first half of the game, and I thought Schenn looked tired, definitely his weakest game in my opinion.

Two things.

1. He is only 18 and has played a lot.

2. As everyone mentioned as you get further along in the preseason the less you are dealing with longshots.

Now it has been pointed out that the Wings tonight were icing an AHL line-up, so it appears Schenn may be finding out that he isn't ready to play against AHL players.

If Schenn is really tired, I can't seem to imagine that he's got anything left in the tank for tomorrow's game.

Schenn probably hasn't had a week of relaxation since the end of summer 07.Even kids get tired.

We had a little technology experiment on the Wings board during this game. I was emailing photos from the game via cell phone which then got posted in our GDT less than five minutes later... it worked and we got photos posted online faster than Reuters and AP... .

Next time I go to a Leafs game this year I can email one of the Leafs mods live photo blogs from the game if you all want... it was kind of fun.

Yep, I agree. I still think he deserves to continue to play here until Finger and Kubina are back, and at that point a decision can be made. He has earned that, at least.
