1979 - Legendary Canadiens' sniper Guy Lafleur releases the penultimate and slickly packaged hockey instructions album set to disco music.

The second-to-last one? Which one was the last then?

I actually downloaded that album some time ago...it's truly, uh, something.

So that's like the "Star Wars Holiday Special" of hockey I take it.

That's what happens when you use a fancy word that sounds fitting but have no idea what it means.

It's a common mistake. I had myself corrected once upon a time and now take every opportunity to do the same to others. Welcome to the club!

OT - Guy Lafleur

I've been listening to this all day. Best instructional song I've ever heard.

Sadly, this is one of the better things he's ever done off the ice.

I have to admit that I have a copy of this hanging on my wall in my home office. It's unopened and I didn't plan on opening it to listen to it, and now I definately won't.

It goes along with the Gilbert Delome record I have.

Notice how the more popular Disco got, the better Lafleur got? Once Disco became passe, Lafleur's numbers dropped. A coincedence?

Was there a short-lived disco comeback in the late 80s?

If there had been, Lafleur would have scored 40 goals. But unfortunately it was just the power of the occasional retro night that kept Lafleur going.
