Yeah, he fits that bill perfectly, minus the hitting and fighting part. Arnott is a 5'9", 175 lb man in a 6'4", 220 lb man's body.

Today, I learned that shorthand for "Shane O'Brien" is SOB. On the same very day, I discovered that the accepted abbreviation for "Patrick O'Sullivan" is POS.

Crazy Irish and their awesome acronyms.

I don't know any Irishmen that abbreviate their last names with two letters. I myself don't list my initials as SOC. People are just too lazy to type.

But assuming that's done, I could see this happening. But how is POS defensively?

Reading HF's report on Lewis seems like he might be a good fit since he's fast and defensively responsible, but do Kings fans think he'd make the NHL? In what capacity?
To be completely honest, Lewis has been in the shadow of Boyle, Pucell, and Moulson in Manchester, and now Simmonds and Moller in camp. He's a great player, 17th pick overall, and will see a lot of NHL time at one point or another.

POS is great defensively. Saw a lot of PK time here.

Propose, Wingers are acceptable but centers are preferred
Sounds like you want Brandon Dubinsky.

I'd probably be OK with it then. Still a bit of an overpayment (especially considering the fact that O'Sullivan isn't signed), but O'Sullivan can be tossed between Hecht and Pominville and probably look decent. Only reservation is on faceoffs, and of course getting O'Sullivan signed.

Connolly's hurt again.

So basically we're looking for a guy to play with(set up) Kotalik, win faceoffs, and forecheck.

I definitely like the Tallinder-Zajac idea. Zajac would fit in perfectly between Hecht and Pominville and is only 23 years old. I still think Tallinder can rebound, but if we could get a good second-line centre for him I would definitely support the deal. Connolly simply cannot be counted on anymore, Gaustad is injured, Hecht isn't a natural center, and Mac, Mair, and Ellis aren't more than 4th line centers at the present time. Weber is NHL ready and could step right into the lineup if we did deal Tallinder.

I would try to acquire him at the deadline for some prospects/picks. I expect Columbus to be out of it by then, and we should still be in the playoff race. Malhotra is an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year, and I'd love to acquire him early and have his exclusive rights until his contract expires so we could extend him. He'd fit in as a second or third line centre for sure.

I think it has more to do with the connotations of those acronyms. SOB is an SOB on the ice, and POS is a POS...
