I read that he had left the team. Not true?

*cough* Capitals *cough*

To Nashville:
Fleischmann
2nd rounder

To Washington:
Radulov

Why is there another thread discussing the exact same thing?

If you're curious you should probably read the posts on the other thread.

You have to assume as a GM you'll get one year out of this guy, then he either bolts back to Russia or has some long holdout contract negotiation. So frankly, only cup contenders are going to look at this seriously.

If I was Bryan Murray, I'd probably go as high a San Jose's 1st for one guaranteed year of Radulov.

Good luck with that....just like all those who create Sundin threads think that world will be sucked into a black hole if they navigate past page 1.

honestly.....i hope the rangers make this deal....this looks almost exactly like the jegr trade from washington.......rangers have some pretty decent forwards and IMo could probably deal them with a pick or two (not a 1st) and still be fine....radulov+zherdev would solidify the top-6

And I'll quote my own reply...

If I were GMGM, I wouldn't touch the chemistry of the current Capitals team unless the deal was insanely great... like Huet for a late Second rounder (as in the case of last years great trade)...

Radulov left for the KHL, and basically came to the newspapers and said FU to the NHL. Now sometimes Russian journalists print things that weren't actually said (Visnovsky comes to mind) but this whole situation has to leave any team or GM extremely wary of wasting any possible asset to acquire radulov. I think his trade value, if any teams are interested, would be like a mid prospect + 3rd/4th rounder.

Radulov and Frolov on the same line together might work out real well, but I think DL would rather let Osullivan walk than take a chance with Radulov and his apparent character/communication issues.

Muscle Bob is right - Radulov plays in Russia and he will continue doing that. Nothing shows tht he has any desire to leave KHL. And believe me I can bet any amount of money that he will not scr** his KHL team and league. He is valuable and loved for his return to Russia. He will not turn back (maybe in years after serving his contract).

These NHL trades are sick. Why would any team want his rights and give up existing player.

Maybe there is still some value for Radulov though. He might be valuable loophole for some team in "cap hell". Ducks could trade him for Schneider and then suspend Radulov for not showing up and by that unload salary. In that way getting under cap. I believe Nashville would love some pick(s) too?

I'm glad someone wore their thinking cap

Most of these proposals are more than I'd give for Radulov as an NHLer, and WAY more than he's wortha as a khler. compared to his previous value he is worth dirt, IMO

Except that nobody is going to give that up for Radulov under the present circumstances.

and when I mean anywhere, I mean he isn't going to play for the Preds, much less another NHL team?

Back on topic, I don't think he'll be back for at least 3 years (that's how long he signed for...right?) even at that if he is successful over there he'll get a big contract offer. It pretty much comes down to what league he likes better...This year there's no way he plays here.

Thanks. That's what I was looking for. I had heard there was trade speculation, but I didn't know if there was much truth behind it.

Plenty of threads on this... look in the Nashville forum for more info

There hasn't been anything new on the matter. IIHF is not suspending him and the KHL is refusing a neutral arbitration site, so there is nothing that can be done. He's staying in Russia for the time being.

That'd be funny if he pulled a Radulov on the KHL. Sign in the NHL despite being under contract in the KHL. I would probably laugh for a day straight.

Any recent news regarding Radulov? How's he doing in Russia? Any news if he wants to come back to NHL?
