Toughest teams?

Post the 5 teams you think are toughest to play against... physically.

Toronto is the obvious number 1

In no order, I'd say the next five are:
Vancouver
St. Louis
Edmonton
Colorado

The only thing tough about the Oilers is Ethan Moreau and Jason Smith.. This coming from an Oilers fan.

Brewer, Laraque, Staios, Ulanov, Semenov (when he wants to be tough).. we have a fairly gritty team..

Ironically, Philly has stayed very tough despite aquireing so many "soft" europeans.

Either Don Cherry is wrong, or players mystically begin playing tough once they put on a Flyer jersey.

I remember when people said the Canucks were soft too. Brookbank made everyone tougher I think.

Yes, cheapshots count so:

Calgary
Toronto
Vancouver
St. Louis
Philadelphia

Yikes, Canadian teams take the first three spots.

Hate to break it to you but they're still soft, certainly not in the top 5 in toughness. It'll take more than Brookbank to toughen them up.

I don't think the Canucks are remotely near top-5 in toughness.

1) Nashville
2) Toronto
3) Philadelphia
4) Columbus
5) Calgary

Toronto's made every list so far

I'd say Toronto, Calgary, Philadelphia, Nashville, St. Louis in no particular order.

Nashville, Toronto, and Philidelphia always strike me as super-tough teams.

NYI, Vancouver, and St.Louis are also up there.

The Devils too are way up there.

I guess if you put me on the spot, I'd say Nashville, Toronto, Philly, Devils, and Isles.

Bertuzzi, Jovanovski, Brookbank, Ohlund, Ruutu, Cooke, Keane, May, Bouck, Grenier, Linden. They don't all fight, but they aren't fun to play against.

the Canucks could be the toughest team in the league.. but they don't play a very physical game.

in terms of how tough they actually play rather than the toughness sum of each of their players:

1. Nashville
2. Calgary
3. Philadelphia
4. Toronto
5. St Louis

Of the games I have seen this year, four teams have made a lasting impression on me as far as playing a tough game:

Toronto
Calgary
Philly
St.Louis
Atlanta

Nashville is right behind. Very, very close to Atlanta. That's based on the games I saw only.
