There's a vid on Youtube of them fighting, I think while Avery was in LA. Probably where most of this hearsay comes from, as I don't think there's any problem between Brenden and Sean right now.
Here's a few tidbits for you regarding Avery. He will probably be fine as long as the Stars are winning. As your team gets older and starts heading south, I doubt that you will want him around for the rebuild.
I wish I could say that was the only incident of this type that happened in Avery's tenure.
Dallas fans reactions are the same as the Kings fans reactions when Avery first came to town, so it doesn't surprise me one bit. Dallas fans only hear about stories here or there that have happened over the years and just dismiss the thought of the Titanic sinking because the Titanic is, afterall, unsinkable. Some of us lived through the incidents and know what Avery is capable of. Unless Avery has changed his antics, it will be more of the same. But I doubt he has changed. A person of his character doesn't suddenly change the way he carries himself - he is the same person just in a different context. Dallas, meet your iceberg.

I find the Avery-iceberg analogy a little completely stupid.
LA has accomplished squat since Avery left, and the Rangers turned their season around when Avery came. so....

You should really write a piece about our iceberg so that come april we can all bring it up and throw it in your face. The LA Kings suck with or without Sean Avery. I'm sure that Dave Taylor and Andy Murray left because of his play, he injured all your players right?
You sound ridiculous right now.

Reason: Keep it clean

The Kings had to take their team apart and completely start over. But Avery was one of the main reasons the 2005-06 team completely quit. You do not know what he is capable of.

He's not a prospect anymore. But my posts will always be here.
The Kings were competitive for almost the entire 2005-06 season, even with injuries. Then Avery thought it wonderful to begin fostering insubordination amongst his teammates as well as the mentality that everyone should just start playing for themselves and not for the team. That is when he successfully got his teammates to quit and the season fell apart. I hope for Dallas's sake that the team never has to encounter adversity during the season.
Avery's changed a lot since he left LA. I don't recall there ever being any locker room struggles when he played for the Rangers, but that may have been due to the Shanahan factor. Who knows. Dallas will still make the PO's, IMO.
Im still not to thrilled about him being on the Stars, but i hardly doubt Dallas would be looking to deal him right now. Once the Stars start playing better and get on a roll i think he'll play a big part in key games.... at least i hope
The Daily News had a story about Brown this morning and the story talked a lot about how difficult it was for Brown to be in the NHL at 18 on a team that had mostly older, married guys who apparently didn't do a lot to make him feel comfortable in the NHL as an 18 year old. It's been rumored Brown and Avery didn't get along and here was the one story that was in the paper. I think this is one of the first reasons that has been published, the rest are kind of whispered rumors
After the stories about Avery keep coming, I wouldn't want him in my locker room, especially if I had a young team.
Anyhow, I think Avery's value would depend on if and when Dallas were to get fed up with him. Year 1 in a 4 year contract with a fairly large cap hit for what he can produce, not much. Dallas decides to move him in year 4, probably a lot more.
That was a great read, thank you for that. I always wonder what its like for younger guys in a mens dressing room.

you can say I don't understand the downside, but you certainly don't know the upside.
Avery took a lifeless Ranger team and made them into one of the better teams in the league back in '07.

He got into a fight with Malik, and Drury gave him a nudge when he was screening Brodeur in the playoffs. I think there was some struggles, but it wasn't "advertised". He was also kicked out of Detroit because Yzerman, Chelios, and other complained to Bowman. What you saw before was just Avery being Avery I guess.

He got into a fight with Malik to try and toughen him up. Drury told him to lower his stick so he doesn't get a high sticking. I can't comment on the Detroit situation since I know nothing about it.
It fixes our surplus of forwards while adding only $600k. Dallas wouldnt do it but hey we can wish right
Why wouldn't Dallas do it if they are desperate to rid themselves of Avery which is the whole point here no? Fritsche and Lundqvist equal out, so that leaves it as Prucha + Dawes for Avery. Whats not to like for Dallas? It's more than what I would offer if I knew they wanted to dump him.
