Tonight, the Habs want to win this game, of course, it might get kinda chippy..
Here's where i'm going with this..
Simon Gagné just got the puck, center ice, He's nonchalant, Lats skates by and BANG!
Simon leaves and does not come back..
Don't you fear that happening?
Yeah, great for us, Gagné's not playing anymore and everybody got into a fight and all but I mean, ain't a guy like Gagné a second away from ending his career?
aka Lindros..
What do you think Lats should do? Hit him HAAAARD or just play the puck?.. Do players think before they hit another player?
Hit him. Hockey isn't about showing sympathy for a guy just cause he has had a concussion before. There are a lot of players in this league who have had concussions...like Lats. Everybody is 1 hit away from retirement, not just Gagne. I am sure Downie would hit Saku or Kovalev just the same.
For one I dont think it will be Lats giving alot of hits on Gagne, I would look more at Begin, Laps, Kostopolous because more than likley there 1st line will be playing against our 4th line most of the night.
And to answer your question, in my opinion you do not run around head hunting, however if during the game Gagne has the puck then ya hit him, he is a professional hockey player he knows the risks in playing in the NHL, I am sure Gagne will be hit tonight but it will be during the course of the play I highly doubt someone on the habs is going into tonights game saying to his-self "I am gonna hit Simone Gagne"

Some players do.. They want to make an impact.. ALA Tucker let's say.. Do we have a Tucker? Nhaaaa, won't happend Bouillon would though.. But he's not dressed..
I think O'Byrn will try his best..
Fact is, this game is special, I predict things will happend.

LMAO I think opposing teams are more worried about AK46 right now, if we are talking about getting smacked into the boards from behind or otherwise. AK is a MONSTER !!!
Agreed.. Hitting is park of the game and every player has had some sort of injuries, Crosby had a significant injury last season so we should hit him this year? MOST players do not go into a game wanting or expection to hurt someone but if it dose happen throught the game play, well that is just all part of hockey.
Probably not Lats but A. Kostitsyn, hes one of our best hitter now. I hope Carbo encourages him to keep hitting and Laraque teach him some fighting lesson to fight back when a guy jumps on him. Actually, I think he can defend himself but he just doesnt want to take his helmet off.
Yep I'd send everything we have after him. Both Gagne himself and the team are fully responsible for anything that happens, and this is an easy way to take a good bite out of a conference rival.
Not saying, "Go and kill Simon, les boys!" but rather "if you get a chance to ring him up, do it as hard as you can!"
They will be looking to do nothing less to us - remember that !

Actually, I don't want Gagné to die and Kostitsyn can check with the triple whammy of weight, speed and particularly vicious angles.
Gagné (and Bergeron in the next game) shouldn't be treated as though they're carrying safe conduct passes. However, that doesn't mean they should become targets of deliberate head shots. I wouldn't approve of elbows flying high.

I dont think so, if Simon was cleared to play then he is good to go. Guillaume should not play with any restraint. Im quite sure simon wont play with any, so we have to keep up.
I believe that the philly medical staff did do a few errors by letting him come back too early. He got bumbed a little (à la Lindros) and then he got another concussion.
The way you describe the play, no. But if they go head hunting yes. If the opportunity to hit and opponents is there, I don't think you should restrain...

Is it a coincidence? Lindros ... Keith Primeau ... Gagné?
