Hey, Habs fan here.

Just asking about Sbisa. He was just drafted this year, correct? He looks really good.

Good game guys, started slow, but picked up at the end for sure

One of the few who actually tried for 60 mins.

Maybe his 18 yr old body will last a whole season once Stevens gets him to buy into the give 40 min effort rule !!!!

Agreed, but man, he's got potential.

Is he there for a tryout, or for the whole year?

I am steaming that their is absolutely ZERO accountability for this team to give a 40 min effort under John Stevens. The team is full of good , young players (less Knuble), their is no reason for this inconsistent effort, Sure their will be times where you play bad, but at least try. Can't wait for Stevens press conf.,

Can't see how he won't stay if he continues to play like that.

You've got a good one there... another one.

not trying to start anything but good game u guys gave me a scare with that third goal...but ya a regular season victory still counts its a new season and ya u guys owned us in po's no denying that but a couple of factors played heavily into flyer's favor...mainly umberger becoming price's glove hand's pimp but not to beat a dead horse good game had me on the edge of my seat. good luck rest of the way...

ps would love a laraque vs cote rematch

Luca Sbisa is our number 3 defensemen....he stays, and he competes for rookie of the year....he is ready now.

Timmonen - Coburn
Hatcher - Spisa
Vananeen - Alberts
Eminger

Please?
Danny Briere is playing better defensively

Lasse Kukkonen is attempting to move up into plays more which leaves a liability on the back end and a forward trying to cover for him.

Riley Cote kicks ass before he eats his breakfast.

Jeff Carter is going to score 80 points this year.

The habs are a great team, but they didn't play so great tonight. We handed them this one. We had a 2-1 lead, were dominating the game at the time and had our foot on the throat, and we missed many many chances to put the game away (cough knuble cough)

Whaddya think guys. I came up with a new slogan for the Flyers. Instead of Hungry for More it should be:

The 08-09 Flyers "Just a Little Short"

or instead of "A day late and penny short", how bout

"A period late and goal short"

So how bout it?

God damn this is a great way to start the season.

Looks as if the Phillies are taking a page out of the Flyers book right now.

"We'll Play 3280 minutes this year?"

"Hungry for Just a Little Bit Less?"

"Bring It On?" (Hey, look how it treated the 2000 Phillies)

We had a solid effort, but once again we didn't execute and capitalize on the chances that we were given by the Habs. Sbisa continues to be awesome, Vaananen was solid, and Eminger and Kukkonen blow. Andrew Alberts can't come soon enough.

Highlight of the night? I tried to see if I could see you, Jules, but wasn't sure.

On the game, the Flyers have a serious problem, and that is they can't play defense. And it's not like a major epiphany I came to, because I think most of us knew that.

By the way, good or bad, if Stevens is not going to use Kukkonen, he has to go. Trade him for someone who us actually going to play. 37 shifts for Timonen is borderline insane.

From what I saw tonight he has the wheels and puck handling ability, but he's a half second slow with frequency making decisions -- got him plowed by Kovalev of all people tonight -- and has been caught defending no one on a few goals.

And To Le Tricolore:

Sbisa might not end up staying past 9 games. We'll have to see.

Well this time we tried to play 40 minutes but did not play last 20.

Kukkonen is not at fault this time. Second goal by Habs was ALL Briere skating away from the puck as well as Kostitsyn. Who passed to Kovalev and in the end Briere totally blew coverage on Hamrlik. What a pathetic d-sive player he is.

Eminger managed 4 penalty minutes.

Knuble, I do not know why people like him. Must be that "loyalty" crap? He can not even unload slap shot. All alone in front of the goalie(who is down) and our 2.8M man can not score or control that puck. He is 3 steps late.

Biron.. good save bad save. Good save bad save, terrific save

But I am ok with all that. No system is a problem. PP is not clicking like last year and all of a sudden Stevens does not look like a genius. D-sive coverage is blown on every other shift. We can not outscore teams liek last season and we must play some D but we can not.

Good game by Carter and Upshall much better effort.

Flyers play 5 more games against playoff teams. Will be fun

Sbisa should be in NHL but next year. With Eminger and Kukkonen on the roster we just can not afford that many turn overs and mistakes.

I think we were very lucky that Habs PP is still a little off.

sbisa was indeed very good tonight. i disagree with jester on tonights game, i thought under pressure he for the most part made the plays. he was nowhere near a problem for our team tonight
