Aren't you forgetting Kerzhakov?

I think the starting spot for CF is between him and Pav. After the showing vs. Finland, it might be Kerzh, but I still prefer Pavlyuchenko.

Kerzhakov is usually effective vs weak/average teams. Once it comes down to world powers or even good organized teams he's not very effective ( or I have to at least see it). All I was trying to say is that Bukharov is talented and baring injuries should be at least considered for NT

Big controversy in the Zenit-Moscva game.

This game might replayed.

WOW, every RPL team, that participated in the first round of Russian Cup today, lost.

http://football.kulichki.net/ruscup/index.htm

Our league has a lot of parity, unfortunately, I doubt that either Rubin or CSKA will be a factor in the CL. I'm a bit more hopeful for the UEFA Cup, but I don't expect much there either.

EDIT: Amkar has just won their game. The other top league teams (Saturn, Lokomotiv, Kuban', Krylia, CSKA, Terek, Dynamo, Rostov, Rubin) are all out.

What's going on? Are RPL teams not take this seriously?

Great goal by Bystrov.

He has played very well lately. I hope he keeps it up.

I don't think they are intentionally losing because winning the cup gives a place in the Europe League. The thing is that first division teams are dying on the pitch to beat a RPL team at home usually in front of a packed stadium...

But yeah, the teams are not using 100% of their capacity.

And yes, a good win by Dynamo

The Russian NT roster for the preparation for the Argentina (Diego ain't happy) game has been announced:

http://football.kulichki.net/rusnews/news.htm?62081

- Limited number of players on the roster, but I was hoping to see some talented young guys get experience with the NT, such as Djanaev, Bukharov, Samedov and Kasaev.

- In the case of Kasaev, he is a victim of playing on a mediocre team. I hope he goes to Rubin, as is rumored.

- As a life-long Torpedo fan, Semshov is one of my favorite players, but he's starting to decline. I'm not sure he's the best option for the starter's spot anymore. In general, the NT has too many Zenit midfielders as starters.

Does Roman Shirokov ever learn to shut his mouth?

Yeah, Malafeev isn't happy with Shirokov.

http://football.kulichki.net/rusnews/news.htm?62727

This isn't the first time Shirokov says something like this in public. Talented player (he has been better then Semshov lately), but he can act like a total d*** sometimes.

BTW, Kasaev is about to move to Rubin. I wanted to see this, he was being wasted in Kuban'. I hope he does well and becomes a NT caliber player.

in Rubin he will either vanish or become a good player that he should be. I mean Rubin are quite reasonable and loaned Adamov to Kryl'ya as he's not cracking the roster on regular bases.

Zenith is falling apart, I think Shirokov or Malafeev will have to leave the team...

It'll be Shirokov probably. His mouth has gotten him in trouble on several occasions.

I mean, I'm not saying Slava's statement was very appropriate, but I bet he has A LOT more friends in the locker room then Roman.

I think if Shirokov leaves, there will be plenty of dry eyes.

WOW, just wow.

So Dynamo was REALLY dumb yesterday, but it's NOTHING compared what Krylia did today.

How do you lead 3-0 with a 2-aggregate advantage with 17 minutes left and SCREW UP?

Idiots!!!!

Trailing now 3-2 to Argentina with 3 minutes to go. Were off to a good start but then slumped and gave up 3 straight goals. Something to work on, Guus H.

Eh, defense again let us down.

Ignashevich and Kolodin are ok when they play against slower, more patient teams, but when they face speedier, more technical teams, they struggle.

Who do you guys prefer to be starting at Center Forward? Pavlyuchenko, Kerzhakov or Pogrebnyak?

playing vs weaker opponents - Kerzhakov
playing vs world powers - Pavluchenko
Pogrebnyak coming off the bench.

Want to see Bukharov get a shot with the team, but that's not happening unless or when we warrant a spot in the WC or fall out of contention.

As for D, it's disappointing how we fall aprat vs classy teams...Argentina totally had their way.
