Not a good job on D by Zenit, but at least they got a VERY important goal at the end of the game.

They'll still need a win, but it could be 1-0.

Hmmm....Rubin got a TOUGH division with Barca, Inter and Dynamo Kiev.

CSKA got a more manageable group, but the way they've been playing lately.....

Spartak's handed a brutal 3-0 blowout at home by Rubin Kazan. Rubin headed for winning the league again?

Yeah, I think Rubin will take it.

It's really too bad that they are in the "group of death" in the CL.

I wish they and CSKA would switch places, since I don't think CSKA probably won't even get out of their group (ManU is better and Wolfsburg was German champ).

With all of these high-profile transfers that just happened, the one that could have the most impact is the little-known, 26-year-old striker Shamil Asil'darov.

He already has 5 goals in 4 games and has been very impressive.

If he continues to play like that he might actually carry Nal'chik out of the elimination zone.

Good find for Nal'chik.

I wouldn't sweat over the progress of Asil'darov, as it seems there's a pool of teams that are trying to bring down Kuban' to Per. Div. So his gols as of late don't convince me...he's had many tries in PL before.

I don't know, man. He has been impressive - good technique, strong shot.

He was impressive vs. Spartak also and they certainly weren't trying to lose

I was expecting a tough game. Wales isn't on the same class as us, but they play tough.

Anyukov got a yellow today. Does this mean he'll miss the game vs. Germany?

I hope not, we need to put our best foot forward.

****!

We'll have to play against another 2nd place team for the qualification.

And there are several really good teams out there.

I hope we qualify.

I hope to avoid Ukraine for two reasons:
a) I want both teams to make it
b) It would be too crazy to face other again 10 years later after Filimonov's famous ....uck up
