Sibir
Good debut in Europe for a team that's struggling to stay in the PL.
Hope they can capitalize on it in a week's time.

I watched that game - good result for a bad team. Sure can't blame them for trying, every player gave all they got, which is very little, but still, congrats.

Advocaat named NT roster for Bulgaria game:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russia_..._football_team

Other then maybe Shirokov, no surprises.

I hope Advocaat won't just insert the whole Zenit team into the starting lineup.

Anyukov should be starting, Denisov is probably our best holding mid, but I'm not sure I would start the rest of them.

Zyrianov doesn't look his best at the moment, Bystrov isn't 100% and Shirokov shouldn't be starting over Bilyaletdinov.

And the former Zenit players, Semshov and Pogrebnyak, shouldn't be starting.

how lucky was sibir' to go through...wow...

As for advocat - he's a typical 'халявщик' wants to ride Huus' team as long as he can...why on earth would a sane person call up Bystrov, Zyryanov, Torbinskiy, Sychev who can't find their game....Kasaev, Lebedenko are in exceptional shape right now, why don't u give them a shot?

Yeah, it's annoying.

Fayzulin is playing excellent right now, but probably won't get any playing time because there is such a depth in the midfield for Zenit.

He probably deserves it more then most.

How is Zenit going to give playing time to all of these midfielders?

Well, Zenit is sort of Team Russia right now. So I wouldn't wish them the worst.

SKA is similar now also.

But I understand what you mean.

Kasaev - not a fan, too selfish, gets lost in his own speed and decision making is too slow, заигрывается. But he's been progressing nicely. The one who MUST be on the team is Lebedenko, he's in the best shape of his life - extremely productive on Rostov's roster, who are currently slotted at n.5

You are right. Kasaev does like to take the whole play upon himself a lot of times. He does need to get his teammates more involved. And it's not like he doesn't have the vision. I've seen him make some very nice, precise passes that create opportunities. But it's his technique that is the most impressive aspect. He can take 2 or 3 defenders on at ones.

Agreed on Lebedenko. I guess, I'm still a bit upset at him for leaving Torpedo, but that was a long time ago.

There are some other young Russian players that have impressed recently:

Artem Dzyuba - finally starting to score regularly. Leaving Spartak was probably the best thing for his development. Very talented player, I hope he keeps improving.
Victor Fayzulin - he is a victim for Zenit's midfield depth and probably seniority. I think he could be a candidate for NT spot, if he were to get regular playing time.
Alexander Orekhov - tall center defender has been solid for Rubin.
Alexander Ryazantsev - Good all-around player.
Sergey Parshivlyuk - He is improving. I think he'll be a good right back.
Glushakov/Tarasov - I like both of these guys, but they are kind of interfering with each other right now. Both are holding mids and could be good ones.
Pavel Mamaev - He is steadily improving.
Dmitry Kombarov - He was playing very well before the WC break, but has been more quiet after. I still like his game.
Georgy Gabulov - Intersting young midfielder. Younger brother of Vladimir, he has plenty of talent, but not yet refined. Rubin is interested in getting him and I wouldn't mind seeing him playing with a stronger supporting cast.
Alexander Marenich - He has been arguably Alania's best player. Regularly creates scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.

agreed, but, while Po and Pa are on the team no need as they are much better, same goes for Adamov who's playing well right now
Victor Fayzulin - he is a victim for Zenit's midfield depth and probably seniority. I think he could be a candidate for NT spot, if he were to get regular playing time.
agreed, he's rumored to be joining Rubin a huge plus for his career as he will actually play there and he is very talented
Alexander Orekhov - tall center defender has been solid for Rubin.

I have doubts about him, as he's more of a responsible defensive system product rather than a very good player
Alexander Ryazantsev - Good all-around player.
yes, he's knocking on the door should be on the team soon
Sergey Parshivlyuk - He is improving. I think he'll be a good right back.
sam as Ryazantsev
Glushakov/Tarasov - I like both of these guys, but they are kind of interfering with each other right now. Both are holding mids and could be good ones.
Tarasov is overrated, but will be on the team in some near future as all the players of his position on NT, except for Denisov, are old, Glushakov - while very talented stopped progressing
Pavel Mamaev - He is steadily improving.
should be a good competition for Denisov and Tarasov in near future, but I was hoping for more out of him
Dmitry Kombarov - He was playing very well before the WC break, but has been more quiet after. I still like his game.
agree with you
Georgy Gabulov - Intersting young midfielder. Younger brother of Vladimir, he has plenty of talent, but not yet refined. Rubin is interested in getting him and I wouldn't mind seeing him playing with a stronger supporting cast.

Alexander Marenich - He has been arguably Alania's best player. Regularly creates scoring opportunities for himself and his teammates.
the last two I agree - talented guys, I would also add Valikaev from Rostov in that mix, he just got hurt, but with his attitude and talent, he may crack the NT some day

Oh man, I hope this isn't our regular starting midfield.

Shirokov? Torbinskiy? Semshov?

Pog is the starting center forward?

Yeah, that was unimpressive. I hope they play better in the meaningful games.

The only player that played well was Dzagoev.

Another so-so performance by Zenit. It'll be a tough second game for them.

Awesome goal by Pav.

http://rutube.ru/tracks/3502191.html...true&bmstart=0

I hope he is getting back into top form.

It seems that a lot of top Russian players aren't in their top form at the moment. I hope they get it together before the Euro qualifier games.

All 3 results were good by Russian teams.

CSKA did an excellent job of finding skilled foreigners and is a MUCH stronger team right now.

Unfortunately, it'll cost their Russian players some playing time.

Lokomotive is a joke, CSKA will be a European League super power if Wagner, Tosic, Dumbiah and Dzagoev are in shape - looooook out.

Congrats to krasic for signing with Juve! Great inspired performance by Sibir'... Too bed Rubin has sold Semak and Bukharov....matens and medvedev are no sub for those, Ben Arfa told them off, hope they can get better soon.

I hope Rubin can get Fayzulin, Gabulov or Izzy.

I'm hearing Izmailov will probably be back to Russia soon. I'm interested to see how he does. I was a big fan of his.
