Nedved and other Czech ex NHL scorers

after 14/15 games

Robert Reichel is top with 20 pts
Marty Straka is 6th with 16 pts
David Vyborny 37th with 10 pts
Rucinsky 44th with 9 pts

Petr Nedved has 5 points after 4 games (4G+1A)! I think he could have helped us putting more biscuits in the net at half of Prucha/s price tag.

Reichel? Haven't heard that name since the mid-90s - how old is that guy?

Reichel is 37.

Nedved may have been better, but Prucha has shown in the past an ability to score, and I'm sure the team wanted to give him one last opportunity to prove his worth. It was the right move, even though it hasn't worked out so far.

Yeah so when does he get that chance?

Vyborny is a guy the Rangers have been linked to in the past. I remember last season when we were scouting the Jackets the report was we were there for him.

which i didn't see the reason for... we always had someone else we could shift up if he was feeling tired, and i mean, he was on fire and would have been for a fraction of the cost. Prucha could have immediately been dumped for a pick. Either way, I'm not sure why we opted for Prucha if hes not doing anything and were playing him on some low lines or just plain scratching him.

Czech Extraliga is more similar to AHL, quality-wise, than it is the NHL.

Straka would fit real well with the Rangers as currently constructed.

What the hell happened to Vyborny. He put up a couple of really nice seasons in Columbus then couldn't score to save his life .

vyborny never was a scorer.....a good passer though...

the reason I brought Nedved into the equation is that he seems genuinly in good form and I reckon he could have been ours for 1/2 of Prucha's pay with more result.
Also thought he could have given us a wing/center option and a genuine goal threat on PP. I would have been happy with Prucha going for a draft pick.

There is nothing sadder than a sniper who doesn't snipe.

Understand its water under the bridge now.

Mid-90's? He played in the NHL right up until the mid-00's.

No kidding... the team is 5-1, but we'd be better off with Nedved on the roster.... right...
