They play an attacking style of hockey, less system oriented. Think more offense than defense. They creat good scoring chances, and also give up very good scoring chances.
The thing the Leafs bring that the Oilers don't is the physical play, and the nastiness, which makes for more entertaining games. Creates hate, and hate is good.
For my money I'll look for a Leafs game on the Center Ice package before anyone else.
Even in the 80's you heard the ol' "Only defense wins championships"...the Oilers did win Game 1 of the Finals in '84 by a score of 1-0. But still those games must have been pretty entertaining. Glad the Oilers are still trying to play that style even now, problem is it's not successful nowadays although I think we rely on speed nowadays not super-offense.
I'd have to say either the senators or the oilers. The best series of the playoffs are the Edmonton ones, and they always play exciting games. They're such a speedy team.. love it. The sens are similar, but not as quick.

I'm sorry.. I completely forgot about them.. St. Louis is such an exciting player to watch.. they are an awesome team.. and just as fast as the oilers. They get overlooked alot (as I just proved myself)..
They lack scoring, goaltending and have an all around boring style of game. Everyone's arguement is speed. This is hockey not the 4x100 speed skating. Leaf hockey is exciting, Ottawa is exciting, Colorado is exciting, Detroit is awesome to watch, Philly is exciting even in a defensive system, Tampa Bay. I could see one or two biased opinions mention the oilers but so far there has been 10 biase opinions.
Oilers. When they're on their game they are the most entertaining. Last Saturdays game vs. the Canucks was awesome, and Jason Chimera was a blur on the ice.
I'd say the NHL would gain more fans if every team played like the Canucks and Oilers.
The ONLY exciting teams to watch in the east are Boston & Tampa Bay.
Penguins , all Effort all the time,i'm not talking about the skill level, but the effort, imagine if all the super skilled guys in the league played as hard as the penguins instead of floating
