(I wasn't going to get cocky and go for the full "DASSSS A SLEEWWWWW FOOOOT!"... that's a lot of autograph)
Hahaha... sounds funny. I want to see a photo.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think he was on pace for fifty in the games he played with them last year.

3rd short handed goal of the year, 11th of his career... I think Burrows may very well attain a personal best in that category by the time the season is over.

Anyone who's got plenty of time to kill and wants to rehash some good memories... read this thread from the start.

I take great pride in being the one to start this beauty... Alex became a 20 goal scorer last season, will undoubtedly score 30 this year, and will score 40 next year.

Bet on it... I did

So here's some images of the "That's a Slue Foot!!" autograph I got from Burr last week.

When I talked to him I asked "Can I get you to write 'that's a slew foot' on this number?" And he laughed and said "That's from a game against Montreal!" with a huge grin on his face. Great sense of humour on him.

I think that if Burrows gets another goal scoring streak like the one he's in now, he'll finish with 40+.

Thanks for posting your pics, LTE. That was very nice of him to agree to write that on the jersey.

Very welcome. I have a dream that is a Samuelsson 'F' you Sweden!' autograph. This dream shall not die!

Alex Burrows is now 9th in the NHL in goals.

Who saw this coming?

I would proudly say that I predicted it.

On another matter:

Anyone know how to backdate a post?

Burrows is currently fifth in the league in plus/minus. The only forward with a better plus/minus is Ovechkin.

You really do not get the concept of irony, do you?

Try re-reading the last two sentences in my post.

Wow.

Wetty, I got it, so don't worry, your humour was appreciated by some.

This may have been addressed here already, but I didn't read every page.

One thing that concerns me about Burrows was his playoff performance last year. He really didn't do all that great; 4 points total and was outscored by three of our defencemen.

We all know that Burrows comes out to play hard every night. My concern is that other NHL players have another gear saved for the playoffs, whereas Burrows is always operating at full throttle and therefore is in danger of looking just average after other players really turn it on and the game intensity goes way up.

That's my "rain on the parade" post for today.

In last year's playoffs Burrows was playing with a wrist injury that required surgery and a bad hip.

He was playing with a very badly hurt wrist that required offseason surgery to repair.

It was obvious he was suffering badly with it.

Well Holy crap that's the first I ever heard of that. I admit that as soon as the playoffs end, I retire my interest in the Canucks until September.

In light of this new evidence Your Honour, I respectively ask that all charges be dropped and that Mr. Burrows be set free immediately.

Even though Burrows didnt have a stellar playoffs last season ( due to injury), he is exactly the type of player that comes up big in the post-season. Those gritty, hard-working 2-way players. Guys like Sammy Pahlsson, John Madden, Rob Niedermayer, Max Talbot, Ryan Clowe. Burrows ( and Kesler) perfectly fits the mold. He'll have a better post-season this time around.

Back to Burrows (wouldn't want THIS thread to get derailed). He's due for either... a 0 or 2 goal game.
