He first has to get Regher to fight him. Regher isn't a fighter so if SMac wants to get a two minute instigating penalty a 5 minute major and a game misconduct for punching Regher (who won't drop his gloves anyways) then do it. A 7 minute powerplay plus Hemsky being hurt after being crushed means the Flames win 5-0.
He fights Stortini, and you are going to tell me that if he DID something that hurt Hemmer, and Smac came after him he wouldn't fight, then I have more respect for Big Jimmo,The way your putting it, it makes RR sound like a puss* RR will drop the gloves if it came to that I guess I have more respect for your players than you do.

It's a good theory, but there's a clip of Mac running a guy into the boards in the AHL I believe. He injured the guy pretty good and got a 5 minute penalty and game misconduct. If RR won't drop the gloves, he might just crush him into the boards if he has the opportunity. That's when the game would get really ugly.

I know Regher isn't the quickest of players but come on man. SMac couldn't catch a my 8 year old in a foot race. Lemme guess the player in the AHL had his back turned cause thats the only way you don't get out of the way of that snail.
Why would RR drop the gloves? What good does it do when you are a #1 dman fighting a guy who has no place on an NHL roster. When Regher drills Hemsky SMac can try to do all he wants the bottom line is he is gonna get at minnimum 5 minutes of penalty time and a game misconduct.

I respect Regher. He isn't a puss as you claim I make it sound. He is SMART, (something that might be hard to understand in Oil Nation). Take the powerplay and win the game. Mod-edit: deleted.

We don't expect him to play anymore than 4-5 min. He is there INCASE someone like RR takes a shot at Gagner or Hemmer, he will sit on the bench until THAT player is back on the ice then go out and do his thing. He is not big George he is a guy that knows what to do, George would just fight tough guys no matter what, what Mac does is just grab however did the deed and beat him down. RR is a great D-man as I said before, but rest assured that if he pushes Hemmer from behind into the boards he just might be eating through a straw.
I honestly doubt it.
It takes 2 to fight and a smart player would force him to take a roughing penalty if he tried to start a fight. I am sure everyone is given orders not to fight Mac and if the Oil think they can run rough shot over Calgary they will find them selves sorely mistaken, pound for pound Calgary would beat the oilers down. As we have seen before one tough guy has NEVER intimidated us, ever or forced us to change our game plan.
Not worried at all.

It depends, but I doubt a big hit (which is what it would be) would constitute a fight. In all honesty this tactic would only end with Mac in the box with a roughing penelty. Now if RR fought Hemsky and messed him up then that is a different story as was the Jim Vandermeer situation.

I guess your right, and I guess if it happens then we will see, All I was saying is that RR might not fight (and that is smart) but I think the Oilers will take the penalties and let Mac just grab him a beat him (if he wants to go or not) this is what he is here for. Mod-edit: deleted.

Again not worried.
I know that RR won't FIGHT Hemmer, he is a hard nosed D-man that plays on the edge, my comments were from passed hits (some boarderline ones) and I have stated Hemmer puts himself in that position, CLEAN hits are expected and that's what we have come to expect from the BOA.
If you look back at my posts I have stated that it WILL NOT change the way you guys play, and that's great. He is here INCASE that happens to TRY and stop it If he just grabs someone and does it or if they are ready and willing. Listen this guy will play about 4 min he is not here to try and drive the net around RR. Hemmer will get double shifted and Mact will try and get him away from RR it give the Oil some options for the 4 line wing.
I think your statement contradicts itself

Although you say it wont change the way Regehr plays, you indicate that it will change the way Regehr plays or at least try and stop it.
Looks like we get a break. Rookie goalie for Edmonton tonight.
Sportsnet says Jeff Drouin Deslauriers will make his NHL debut in goal Friday for the Edmonton Oilers when they take on the Flames in Calgary.
