To me, best seats solely refer to seats with the best, loudest atmosphere....... I'd rather not be able to see a play in the corner but have 200 raucous nyr supporters around me...
Over the years I've had the benefit of sitting in almost every section in the Garden. not surprisingly, the best seats are on the red line about 15 rows back. I would imagine this to be the case in almost any arena.

combination of view and atmosphere. Prob center ice 200s. My uncle has season tix down below and i go a lot, but so many people down there look at you like you have three heads if you get up and yell at a bad call or something. Frustrating.
Last row of the center club golds 80/81-52/53 are the seats I take in the pre season when you can sit anywhere. Best value in the building is 207 row A. Center 300's are nice but if you are down low people walk in front of you.
I liked my seats in section 343, row G a lot. For starters, obstruction from people walking through the aisles during the game was limited. More importantly, you saw the entire ice and it was very easy to see plays developing. 343 is off the faceoff circle, so it's kind of in the corner.
Also, my firm had seats in section 92, row C (which was the first row). Those seats were good because you can see how intense the game was since you're right near the glass. Also, the game appears faster down there than up higher. Lots of obstructed views and it was tough seeing the other end of the ice (since you're looking through the glass and its panes.

For value, atmosphere and view sections 425,426,427,428,429. Seats are cheap, In the blue's with the real fans and just lookout and see the whole game... It is not even close..
Instead of starting a new topic what seats are obstructed at msg. might be buying seats in the 400 level for a game vs the islanders christmas time anything i should look out for?
Is there anything more annoying than the people who complain about everyone not being as big of a lunatic as them?
Sorry, some of us like to watch the game, and don't feel like drinking/cursing/yelling at every single thing that goes on. Not to mention, I don't care if we're all Rangers fans, most of you I probably wouldn't like. Shhhh.
If all you care about is atmosphere/ambience go to a party or something.
I don't know about the best seats in the house, but no matter what sporting event I go to I always enjoy sitting up high. That's just my preference. I'll take the blues any day.
I actually went to a Wolfpack game last year and had row 2 behind the glass. That lasted for all of half the first period before I left to go sit in the last row of the upper deck. It's so much easier to see things develop and what's going on. Ice level is not my favorite.

401 and 429 (think that's the last section) may be obstructed by the luxury boxes jutting out th the point where you can't see a good portion of the zone closest to you. 405 and 406 may be obstructed by the TV booth depending on how high and close you are to the booth though most of the section should be alright. 414 and 415, you can't see below the goal line closest to you if you're in the last couple of rows. I think that covers everything.

Great thanks for the info
Is there anywhere close to msg where rangers fans go for drinks before the game. Were going to devils leafs game on boxing day and are going to hiy up hells kitchen before the game. Anything like that spot around msg?
The way I look at it, there is a reason the TV cameras are where they are. Sam and Joe (I miss you JD!) have the best seats in the house in my opinion. Since most of us can't sit in the press box, my preference for tickets is the front row of 404-407 or 421-425. I really have to stress the importance of FRONT ROW in the blues though.
