Some team out there will have a spot for wellwood.
Nah, pretty sure he is overweight.

Somewhere, Kyle Wellwood is crying into his double cheeseburger, chocolate shake, and extra large order of french fries.

He was when he was hurt, he gained weight. But he was working out and reported to camp and there was no buzz about him being out of shape like Tkachuk a few years ago and Penner last year.

Hopefully he gets a chance somewhere else, he's not that huge of a cap hit and he wasn't that bad in the pre-season.

If Wellwood was in shape he wouldn't have been placed on waivers. He barley passed the min requirements.

Last reported, Wellwood weighed 189lbs and was dropping.

I dunno about you guys, but that doesn't seem to overweight to me. I'm not chunky at all, but I weigh more than that.

Krog did not play in the NHL last season, and the year before he only played in 23 NHL games with the Rangers and Thrashers.

Fatty!

That's actually not big at all...But can you be sure it's true? A little unrelated here but an MLB site says David Ortiz is 230 pounds....That's surely not the case.

190lbs, very little muscle, and approx 5'9.... when you take everything into account, it isn't very small either.

It's a shame cause wellwood worked hard and made a lot of sacrifices this year. The canucks had wellwood on a vegetables and lean mean diet....no one should be forced to eat vegetables.

He sacrificed the double Big Mac and upsized fries for a quarterpounder meal. The man worked so hard.

I believe that was one poster, and then several saying he was stupid. There was a legitimate argument to be made about whether Savard was a significant enough upgrade on Wellwood in the 2nd line role to justify the assets it would cost to acquire him.

He's actually a bookworm so it's surprising that he hasn't clued into the fact that he has to work to play in the NHL.

Take him back, Fletch.

Ya, remember he was trimming down to make the Canucks team that he didn't even make. Guess eating single cheeseburgers instead haven't helped him much.

Seriously though, from what I saw wasn't he good in preseason?

Oh my, there isn't a team in the league that would pick up Kyle Wellfed.

THE TORONTO STAR
Food Shortage in Vancouver

In this past off-season, The Vancouver Canucks claimed former Toronto Maple Leaf Center Kyle Wellwood off of waivers. Since then hunger and angry have stricken the Canucks franchise. Wellwood's teammate, Steve Bernier, comments. "He just eats all the food. When we go out to eat to dinner on the road he eats all of his food and then starts to eat others without even asking."

This was the case when the Vancouver Canucks were in Detroit this week. "We were out at Denny's" Says Canucks sniper Jannik Hansen, "He finished his Grand Slam with, Sausage and White Toast before most of the team even started." He later comments. "And then when everyone else was barely started he starts eat other's food, my Western Omelete, Alex (Burrows)'s Grand Slam with Bacon and Whole Grain, and everyone else's"

When asked what is ment by eats everyone else's food, goaltender Roberto Luongo responded by saying, "He just... takes your plate and starts eating, He just... takes it."

The Vancouver Canucks have found themselves weak with hunger. General Manager Mike Gillis responded to the incident. "Something must be done about this for the sake of this franchise" Gillis then placed Kyle Wellwood on waivers.

I didn't think he played all that bad in pre-season (wasn't given a serious chance in the regular season).
